Great property in a beautiful rural location. We loved our stay - so quiet and peaceful yet only a short drive from the bustling towns of Barnstaple and Bideford. We enjoyed surfing at Saunton Sands, the clifftop walk from Valley of the Rocks to Lynton and eating out at some of the local pubs. Richard and Alison were great hosts and the girls loved meeting George (the dog). Highly recommended for a relaxing break.
We had a wonderful and quiet time in the lovely and spacious cottage. We loved the details (old doors, window-seat, fire place, etc.). A great warm welcome with fresh eggs from the chickens in the garden, homemade apple juice and shortbread. Although we were out on outings most of the time, we looked forward to returning to the cottage every evening. The children actually wanted to stay "forever". We hope to return some day.
Richard was the perfect host. He rang & spoke with us to ensure we were okay for directions and was incredibly welcoming on arrival. The property itself is stunning. The farmhouse is beautiful & set in very attractive gardens and farmland. The visitor wing is impeccably clean and tastefully furnished. You will want for nothing. It even has its own garden with furniture should you wish to sit outside. The living areas are comfortable and spacious and the bathrooms are immaculate. We got out every day and the October weather was very kind indeed. This was the perfect spot for a quiet getaway but would no doubt be wonderful in the summer. This really is an exceptional property. We wouldn't hesitate to return and to recommend it to others.
Our week at Langley Barton was most enjoyable made so by the accommodation being so comfortable and cosy. Our hosts were very welcoming and gave advice when required. You are 1.4 miles away from the nearest main road accessed down single track roads. You really are out in the country! It was good fun feeding the pigs with our food scraps. The locals were very friendly when we went to the local village hall to sample the cheap beer and play skittles. Richard will point you in the right direction. All in all a lovely break.
This was our first Airbnb experience and a fantastic one. Our hosts called us prior to travelling to make sure all was good, made us feel very welcome throughout the stay and provided lots of great local information. The location itself is simply beautiful. Extremely clean and comfortable with plenty of history and character. The surrounding area and access to activities is excellent.
Beautiful setting and cottage much more spacious than we had expected. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds, large fluffy towels and the welcome biscuits, farm eggs and apple juice were a lovely touch. Richard and Alison were great hosts and we would definitely recommend this to our friends and family and hope to return again to explore more of North Devon. Wendy
We had a fantastic stay at Richard and Alison's property, they were incredibly helpful and welcoming and I did not feel for one minute that there was anything that I couldn't ask. The accommodation offered all that we needed as a family of two adults and one six year old child; we even had the opportunity to 'park' our bikes under cover for the duration of our stay. Having stayed in other self catering accommodation, Langley Barton beats them hands down! We look forward to going back again soon.
