Okay, if you have the opportunity to stay at this house, you should 100% do it. It's enormous by Paris standards, you have room to spread and have alone time, which if you're traveling with say, your three teenage kids like I was, is super important. The apartment itself was gorgeous and spotless. It was sparkling clean and smelled very faintly of bergamot and lavender (so, like heaven). The art was fabulous, there were piles of books for you to use (travel ones), the linens WERE linen, Sandrine doesn't mess around, it's top drawer. Speaking of the host, she was wonderful and met us when we arrived and showed us around the apartment. She has a nice book of 'how things in the apartment work' which was helpful. She left us a nice bottle of wine. She has a nice laundry room with large-sized washer and dryer which was huge for us, as we traveled quite light. The area was super quiet at night, and the rooms all had tilty windows that allowed fabulous breeze though at night, so everyone slept great. There is a giant dining room for meals and more likely for plotting and planning our days. It's a remarkable spot and being so central, it was a cinch to get to and from everything we wanted to see, which was just about everything. The neighborhood is excellent and very safe. I let my teenage girls come and go and felt very confident doing so. The Place des Vosges is, you probably know, a massive landmark with a gorgeous park as the centerpiece. So while there were lots and lots of people there, it wasn't noisy, it was just adorable. People just laying around in the grass, picnicking and playing with their children. At dusk, the park closes and it's peaceful but not deserted. There are several restaurants right there in the Place, which was handy and meant there was almost always something open for us. I couldn't recommend it more. The price was very reasonable, as we were a family of five, and we would have required three hotel rooms a night and wouldn't have had a quarter of the space. We will 100% return to this apartment. The whole rental process was so pleasant and effortless.
