Pope beach is a beautiful one mile long, 300 foot wide strip of sand on the lake. This is an excellent beach for families, with lots of sand, room, clear shallow water, and relative shelter from the winds. The parking lot runs the entire length of the beach so there are no long walks. There are plenty of picnic tables and grills as well. There are also restrooms scattered along the length of the beach. Pope beach is an easy 3 mile bike ride or drive (2 miles north of the "Y" up 89). It is free for hikers and bikers, $7 parking fee.
Just past Pope Beach there is Camp Richardson, which has a great beachside restaurant and bar, but can get a little crowded on a sunny weekend day. They are famous for their rum runners. Definitely try one, but probably not two if you drove. :)

Rule #1 is that we hope you have a fun and relaxing time up at the lake and mountains!
There is no smoking inside the cabin. If you must smoke, smoke outside, and please take care not to leave butts - especially on the ground or in the planters.
Lake Tahoe is a very safe area. However, for your safety and the safety of the property in our home, please ensure that all doors are locked whenever you leave the premises. Don't forget that every room has an exterior door, so please check all of them. If you open the garage door (during the summer only!) please ensure that you've locked it after closing it.
After using the pool table, please recover the pool table with the table cover. If you place the ping pong top on the pool table, please ensure the table cover is on the pool table first, so it doesn't get any further scratches.
The gas grill is for your use. Please ensure the grill cover is on when you aren't using the grill, as this helps keep it as clean and rust free as possible. Also, please turn off the gas at the tank after each use. If the tank is empty, simply bring it to RightAid or the gas station and they will swap a full one for the empty one for $20. Be sure to use the grill brushes provided to clean the BBQ - this grill is not designed to be "burned off" by closing the lid and turning the burners on High for an extended time. The excessive heat generated can cause permanent damage to the grill.
Also, please try to be "green" in your use of our home. Turn off lights and fans you aren't using, ensure that the heat is set to 55 whenever you leave the cabin.
We take seriously the cleanliness of the tub and ensure that it is consistently upkept to the highest standards of cleanliness. Depending on the state of the tub after your departure, a reconditioning fee may apply against the deposit to ensure that the tub is ready for the next occupants. We do strongly recommend rinsing in the shower before getting into the tub, as that is the quickest way to ensure the tub stays nice.
Please don't leave our home a mess. Standard cleaning fees are included, however our cleaning services are charged hourly for any non-standard clean, so to ensure no additional cleaning charges will apply against your deposit, we strongly suggest running a load of towels and sheets through the washer and dryer before you leave, especially if enough of the linens have been used to necessitate multiple loads. Similarly, loading the dishwasher and running it before you leave is recommended.
This rental property is located in a residential area and is rented for personal vacation use only. Parties, weddings, and other large gatherings are not allowed unless specifically authorized.
There is a strict NO PARTY policy in effect at our rental. Violations of this policy may result in full loss of any refund due of the security deposit, instant eviction from the premises, and/or additional penalties as may be warranted.
This is our home for half of the year, so please take care of it. We're so glad you can enjoy it when we can't. Thanks so much!

Amanda and Jeff are married with young twins (a boy and a girl) and live in San Francisco during the spring and summer, and as much as possible in Tahoe during the winter. We're renting out our home in Tahoe while we're not up there as well as our in-law apartment in San Francisco. We both work in software, and enjoy getting outside and hiking, snowboarding and skiing.
