I have to say that its sad when someone who's never used airbnb before, doesn't do any research and never asks any questions about my place would make a reservation, create unrealistic expectstiions in their head and subsequently attempt to harm my business that I've worked so hard to keep above the bar. Susan, I'm not even sure where to begin. Perhaps a tip if you decide to use airbnb again (as you should, its revolutionized traveling and is growing by leaps and bounds), ask questions, as many as it takes to make you comfortable. I could've easily told you that my townhouse is pretty "ordinary" as I never claim it to be anything special even if it is my lil respite in the heart of delray. Airbnb is made up of all kinds of residences from the ordinary to extraordinary. I'm sorry your timing with the train was so bad, as I mentioned however, the train is an afterthought 99% of the day. Regarding you not smelling cleaning chemicals, as I mentioned to you in a note, i use steam to sanitize whenever possible as I know a lot of people are averse to strong chemical smells. That said, all the sinks, toilets and counter surfaces were cleaned with a bleach solution thoroughly prior to your arrival. You may not have smelled that or other "solvents" but can assure you the place was sanitized from top to bottom including all of the bedding, towels, pillows and blankets, every single one in the house. Regarding my neighbors, well, neighbors are neighbors and in this ordinary neighborhood, there will be a disagreement from time to time i suppose but as my reviews will support, by and large, this is a very quiet community. Regarding the air quality, I brought in 4 objective people to give me feedback regarding a stuffy or musty smell and not one of them agreed with your assessment. I'm not sure where you would get that from but I'm sorry if you felt it was stuffy in there, perhaps next time I'll turn down the A.C. prior to a guests arrival. I usually set the thermostat to 74 but perhaps 72 would be more comfortable. Living down here, i think you get used to it being so warm and i know as someone born and raised up north, coming from crisp air to hot humid Florida can take some getting used to but most times thats a welcome change! Anyway, i don't want to beat a drum here but ive had people of all ages stay at my place. As my reviews will support, again, I've received invsriably good reviews from every one, you are the first bad one and I guess it was bound to happen as I know pleasing everyone isn't realistic. That said, if you would've given me a chance, perhaps i couldve salvaged this situation. Regretfully, that wasn't possible. Oh yeah, the foliage that gives my place a more tropical feel was cut back just prior to your arrival. This is typically done prior to the summer as the rainy season tends to cause everything to grow like crazy and amazingly, it all grows back super fast so Im sorry for that again. I truly hope you enjoyed your stay as I mentioned, regardless of your experience at my place. Delray Beach is a wonderdul place to visit, even if youre staying at an ordinary home. From the beach to Atlantic Ave to Pineapple Grove, i love my lil slice of paradise down here and I hope you did as well.
