Enjoy the beauty and nature of Maine (and NH) from this beautiful log cabin on a quiet lake (kayaking, canoeing, fishing and ice skating) and steps from walking trails (+ X-country skiing and snow-shoeing). The perfect place to get away.
Our family of 8 found plenty of room for everyone. Sadly by August the grasses are too high to swim from the dock but a public area is available for a small individual fee (15 min away). The kitchen is large with a large dining room overlooking the lake. The kids loved the hot tub and the game room kept them busy on a rainy day. The cottage is isolated so you will not be running in and out of town twice a day but it is good family time.
This was a wonderful cabin, and a wonderful location. We felt very much at home, like we had borrowed a beloved aunt and uncle's cabin while they were away. It was clean, had everything we needed in triplicate at least and the weather was luckily beautiful. We highly recommend this to anyone looking for a lovely getaway to a Maine lake.
Our family enjoyed all that this location on the lake and its winding, river tributaries had to offer - From a family of eagles to feisty bass right off the dock if one’s lucky. Jeff was an attentive host who made every effort to respond to any need. They generously let us use their canoe and kayaks – essential for exploring. The portion of the lake is overgrown in late summer and so one can’t swim from the house. With several families joining, we needed every room of this large house and some rooms were not as desirable.
