Collins Cap Cottage is a 3 bedroom cottage situated on a 620 acre property and is 600 metres above sea level. Associated with the cottage is Collins Cap Crafts, a gallery and studio displaying furniture, ceramics & glasswork by local craftsmen.
Unique to Collins Cap Cottage is its setting, 600 metres above sea level on a tree covered ridgeline providing some great views of the Derwent Valley and Southern Tasmania. The cottage itself comfortably accommodates 6 ( 8 at a pinch with use of a combination lounge/fold out bed) with provision for self catering.
We normally charge $125 for a couple and $25 for each additional person and we provide the makings for a continental breakfast each day of your stay.
During the winter months, June, July & August stay 3 nights with us and only pay for 2.
Collins Cap Cottage is your home away from home, it is the ideal base for a visit to Southern Tasmania. We are close to MONA and the Cadbury factory, 30 minutes drive from the centre of Hobart, with easy access to the Mt Field National Park and the highway heading to the West coast
We live in the main house on the property and the Cottage is about 20 metres from our back door. Guests are welcome to explore the property and see the other things we do here and to see and interact with the wildlife

Guests are asked to not smoke inside the Cottage or other buildings on the property.
Pets are discouraged because of the threat they pose to the local wildlife.

I am a retired school teacher (Science, Maths, Computing) and I now have a one -person furniture making business, specialising in using Tasmania's iconic timber, Huon Pine.
