Ample self-contained studio in quiet hamlet, with porch overlooking a local beauty spot.
Open plan kitchen-cum-living room with all facilities, wood stove and double futon. Double bedroom on mezzanine with ensuite shower room. Terrace & pergola.
This open plan studio is a true love birds nest. Or a cosy base for a group of four.
The space is easily heated with the inset wood stove (and there is electric radiator upstairs if needed). If it is cold weather we will have the fire going already when you arrive. We provide some firewood to get you going, but packs of compressed logs can be bought from us at cost price (€2.50 per pack of three). The kitchen should have everything you would need. We provide sensible basics that no-one will normally want to buy-in for a short stay such as cooking oil, some spices and condiments and so on. If you are requiring two beds we will include a double futon in the sitting room area (if it is just two we take it out as it crowds the space slightly, so if you are a couple please let us know if you would actually want it left). There are ample sofas, dining chairs and outside seating for a group of four.
The views up the lake from the little cosy porch are really lovely. If you're looking for a quiet get away this should be perfect.
We'll have the fridge stocked with food for breakfast.
Available for short or long stays until the end of May 2015.
The guests will have fully private use of the gîte.
There are shared laundry facilities in the ground floor of a nearby barn (washing machine, drier, ironing board). There is also a games room with table tennis table.
There is a swimming pool but it won't be filled until sometime in May.
The studio is semi-detached to a larger gîte, which will likely be empty for most of the spring (although it may be occupied around Easter). If the adjoined gîte is empty guests will have full use of the sun terrace and pergola as well as the porch at the entrance way. They will have shared access to the lawns and the pond. They will be welcome to fish in the pond (there is carp and pike).
There is ample off road parking on the drive for the guests.
We like to give our guests as much privacy as they wish, but we are on hand living in the renovated barn across the drive if they have any questions or need help with anything. If our guests are very social it probably won't take much to twist our arm to share a wee dram of an evening with them (we are a retired Irish couple).
We prefer if guests smoke on the porch.
The gîte will be clean when you arrive, we will really appreciate it if you leave it equally clean on your departure.
