Our cozy A-Frame cabin is located in a wooded suburban neighborhood across from our home and hobby farm. Just minutes from DT Terrace it offers a clean, comfortable space with a queen sized bed in the loft and full sized futon below.
Our little A-Frame is definitely a unique accommodation in and of itself ! It has a chalet-like feeling to it - while small, it still feels like a complete home thanks to the full bathroom ( tub included ), private access and loft. You can XC Ski when there is snow right from your door, experience nature walks or cycling or take a quick drive into town, all from a rural setting.
The entire cabin is free to use, including deck. Ample space for parking is available. Walking and cycling trails, XC Skiing right from your door in the snowy months as well as gardening and exposure to a small hobby farm if you like. The Rod and Gun club as well as the Archery club and Golf Course are nearby as well !
As much or little as guests would like - We are a friendly family of five with time to spend with Guests to help you feel welcomed to our home and city. Our summers are filled with outdoor activities, tending our small hobby farm and entertaining our children.
The cabin is its own stand alone building which shares our driveway, yet is quite private. Our street is quiet, and a large 160 acre green space borders the property. We keep a small hobby farm, mainly chickens although we also have two goats, a duck and his good friend Charlotte - All are quiet and well fenced. Fresh eggs are available year round, as well as other seasonal treats ( jams and jellies, honey, vegetables and berries )
Our cabin is available for your enjoyment, although we do not allow smoking inside the cabin ( It does have an ample sized deck if you'd like to smoke cigarettes outside ) It is far enough removed from our house that how you use the cabin is not likely to affect us, as far as coming or going is concerned, or the hours thereof. We would appreciate a heads up if you were planning to be outside using the fire pit or deck late into the night. Firewood is available for a small fee.
There is no extra charge for children under 12, just note in your booking who you are bringing. Please be aware that the stairs to the loft are steep and it is your responsibility to ensure that your children are safe at all times.
We also accept pets, and request that you let us know a little bit about your companion when you book. Please keep dogs leashed on our property and do not allow them to harass the animals. I also request that dogs are not left alone in the cabin unless they are crated.
We do not have a dog, however there is a dog in our neighborhood who likes to visit on occasion. She is extremely friendly, quiet and not at all aggressive. She just wants somebody to throw a ball for her!
I am a mom of 3 amazing life-learners enthusiastically embracing the life I've always dreamed of! Our family moved to Terrace from Vancouver several years ago and never looked back.
I love to paint and make art and am a very active member of Terrace's thriving local arts community.
I love to run, and there are a tremendous number of routes to take right from our door; ranging from easy, flat, road running, to more challenging trails and terrain. Some days I even drive to trails a bit further out to enjoy more of our beautiful local scenery.
I am passionate about local foods and our family does it's best to raise as much of our food as possible as well as to support local farmers. I have a fairly large garden in which I grow garlic, berries, fruit trees and a few veggies organically. We have dairy goats and laying hens. We also keep bees and raise broilers and turkeys. We are always experimenting!
Although we have enjoyed travelling to places like Argentina, Spain and New York City in the past, and hope to do more exploring some time in the future, at this point I am happy to stay close to home. I love living in Terrace. I enjoy my home and the lifestyle we have chosen.
