The three level, stone-constructed house from the 1750s sleeps 8 comfortably in 3 large bedrooms. It is ideally situated to enjoy the beauty of Provençal countryside, wineries and hilltop villages, and yet you will still be close to Avignon and its TGV station.
Our charming maison de village is situated in the centre of the small Provençal village of Rochefort du Gard, close to Avignon. The village is surrounded by vineyards. It is ideally situated for travellers who wish to experience the beauty, colours and aromas of the Provençal countryside and yet still be close to the major French city of Avignon and its TGV station. The house can comfortably accommodate 8 people as there are 2 queen size beds and 2 double beds.
We are offering you the entire house with its fully equipped kitchen, laundry, 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. As a typical maison de village, the house has no garden but has a stunning rooftop terrace with table and chairs, and a built-in kitchen including a fridge and BBQ facilities.
We are making our house available while we are not in residence. We have neighbours in the village who speak both English and French who will be available to assist you to familarise yourself with the the house, village and region.
Local sights are numerous and include:
•ancient Roman monuments at Pont du Gard, Orange, Nimes and Arles;
•famous wine villages of Chateauneuf du Pape, Vacqueras, Tavel and Gigondas;
•villages of Aix-en-Provence, Arles and St Remy de Provence in which impressionist painters lived;
•famous Provençal sights such as Avignon, pont d’Avignon and the Palais du Pape, Les Baux de Provence, the Luberon villages of Rousillion and Gordes, Mount Ventoux, Uzes and the Camargue.

We are an active retired couple who travel between our homes in Perth Australia and Rochefort du Gard near Avignon, France. We also enjoy travelling to other destinations. At both homes, we enjoy walking, biking, wine tasting and cooking.
