Spacious Victorian 2 double bedroom house in Bath, one mile from the city centre.
Unrestricted street parking, there are no charges or permits required.
20 minute walk to city centre and approximately 10 minutes by taxi to Bath Spa train station.
A few minutes walk to local shops and cafes on Moorland Road and bus routes.
Beautiful, panoramic views of Bath from the rear of the house, including the Royal Crescent, Lansdown Crescent and surrounding countryside.
Description of the house:
My home is a two storey Victorian terraced house in a residential neighbourhood called Oldfield Park. It is very close to a busy shopping street called Moorland Road and easy walking distance to the city centre.
There are beautiful views of Bath from the rear, including The Royal Crescent, Lansdown Crescent and the treetops of Victoria Park and surrounding countryside.
It is spacious and light with high ceilings, stripped wooden floorboards and an eclectic mix of vintage furniture.
There are two bedrooms, one with a standard king size bed and the other with a standard double.
There is a large, contemporary bathroom, with shower over the bath.
The living and dining rooms are open plan. There is a vintage Ercol sofa (which doubles as a single day bed suitable for sleeping on), ornate Victorian fireplace, flat screen smart TV (providing access to Netflix, Amazon, Now TV etc.), DVD player, dining table, desk and bookshelves. The books include travel books for the UK, tourist information and leaflets for Bath.
The fully equipped kitchen has modern units and appliances, including a double oven, gas hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. Crockery, cookware, utensils and cutlery are also provided.
The laundry room is located under the kitchen and accessed via the back garden. Please note, use of the laundry room is restricted to stays of three or more nights.
There is a small garden to the front of the house and large enclosed garden to the rear, including a patio area with table and chairs.
Guests have full use and access to the entire house and garden.
The laundry room is separate from the house, located under the kitchen and accessed via the back garden. Please note, use of the laundry room is restricted to stays of three or more nights.
I am always contactable and can help guests via phone or email with questions about the house, Bath, things to see and do, or travel arrangements.
I try to be present to welcome guests, however this is not always possible due to work commitments.
You can drop off your luggage before check in time while I am there cleaning. If you plan to arrive later in the day keys will be left in a key safe, which is very easy to use.
I am usually only ever 10 minutes away and can come back to the house if you need me.
There are some basics in the kitchen including tea/coffee/hot chocolate, milk and cooking oils.
I provide bed linen and towels and there is also a hairdryer, ironing board and iron for guests' use.
I try to be flexible with check in and check out times where possible, but as a rule I need to keep to the following times to allow for cleaning:
Check in from 3.00pm / Check out by 11.00am.
You can have access between 11.00am - 3.00pm to drop off bags, but I will need an approximate arrival time to ensure I am at the house.
The price is for the whole house, for up to 4 people.
There is a vintage Ercol day bed in the living room which is equivalent to a single sofa bed. There would be an additional charge of £20.00 per night for a fifth person to stay.
No smoking inside the house please - smoking is restricted to outside in the garden.
No hen or stag parties.
Please be respectful of my neighbours in terms of noise late at night.
My favourite thing to do is wander around flea markets, I'm addicted to old furniture and wish I had more space to fill in the house!
My favourite place besides Bath is San Francisco, where I was lucky enough to live for a few years. The Dorset coast also takes some beating.
