the villa itself is nice and big, but Heiko needs to add a real address on the listing to help guests find the place and not wander during 2 hours. if i can help, this is how to get to the villa: once you are on the road called Jalan Bumbak, you have to turn right onto a little alley called "Gang Pulau Medang" (Gg. P. Medang). you will be in that alley, and on your left you'll see villas, and on your right you'll see a little paddy field. the second villa you'll see on the left is your destination.
Some good/ some bad points... Good: the pool, the layout of the villa, the lovely white dog Jackie who sits at the gate guarding you, the garden, the outdoor shower with leaves above you, the staff's kindness, the host's flexibility and quick response times at checkin, the water to drink, the music and sound system. Bad: location, next-door neighbour's cow (the smell made swimming unpleasant outside), no breakfast or food at all, the ants, the mosquito from rice paddy next door (other side from the cow), the spider bites, the terrible smoke from the burning of rubbish next door which lasted all night. Our clothes and hair still reek of toxic smoke the next 2 days, we couldn't escape it. I know Heiko is away and there is not much the host can do, but it ruined our stay sadly.

Dear Helen, I am very sorry for you inconvenience. With having a house neighbouring rice fields we have some good and some bad parts coming with it. Farmers have cows, which, so far nobody felt disturbed about. That the farmer was burning the hay ( no rubbish ) on his field happens only twice a year, we are very sorry about it. I am paranoid about spiders, and I can insure that there are no spiders around our house so far. Mosquitoes may occur, specially after some rainy days. We provide ore buy repellent for our guests, if requested.
We had a good time at Heiko's place. Not easy to find, the name of the street and the numbering of the house lacked. The house was spacious and wel furnitured. The maintenance of the pool could be better, the water was not clear. The poolman came every morning to fix it, not much privacy! About 15 minutes by scooter to the beach
Me and my husband had a lovely stay at Heikos house. The house, garden was spacious and beautiful, very homely. The bed was perfect, neighbourhood quiet. Couscous café is the best for breakfast and lunch just around the corner walking distance. Overall we had a great stay, we felt at home. Great Bose sound system was icing on the cake. Free Wifi, no problems. We highly recommend this villa, but we advice you rent a motorbike $5 a/day for easy transport. Note: the house comes with a maid, lovely Made, who comes in every day for a few hours, making breakfast upon request, cleaning, doing your washing and making the bed. Every day she blesses the house and garden, a lovely Balinese custom. We had the best stay for ten days. Will recommend this lovely place to anybody. Thank Heiko for staying in your home.
