Veronique’s place is a hidden haven… we were overwhelmed by how beautiful her home is. The house is full of quirky and interesting objects, it is both eclectic and tasteful…you can see the love and consideration that has went into the decoration.
The garden – WOW! Very bohemian, with lots of beautiful corners and seating areas to choose from, art and flowers. A wonderful glade with swimming pool to cool off and relax during the day.
Our room was beautiful - the bed very comfortable! Again, the decoration gorgeous…. The photos really do not do Veronique’s place justice – it would be impossible to capture it all in a few pictures.
You have a private bathroom to yourself – clean, with slippers, towels and bath products if needed. A balcony from the bedroom provides you with a view of the garden and stars at night, in addition you have a separate patio and private staircase down into the garden – you really are in your own secluded place!
Veronique could not have been more welcoming. Veronique spent some time with us informing us about the area and helping us settle in before we left to explore Beziers.
The house is situated on a narrow street in a residential area; however this is only a short 15 minute pleasant walk into the very centre of town. The streets are quiet and pretty. Veronique offered to allow us to use her garage for our hire car which was very kind, though there was also plenty parking on the street by her home.
Note: I recommend looking out for the top of the house (compare this to the pictures) if driving as this may help in pin-pointing her home, however the GPS took you straight to the door!
We would highly recommend booking breakfast with Veronique – absolutely delicious! Fresh bread, conserves, ham, cheese, custards, fruit, coffee / tea, juice… delicious! One of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had.
We spent two nights at Veronique’s place, however could have quite happily spent a longer period of time there.
Beziers itself is beautiful old town, with quirky and interesting areas… lovely restaurants and bars.
In addition, we are learning French and Veronique was very helpful with this and in speaking English with us, which we appreciated greatly.
If we were in the area again, we would not hesitate to stay with Veronique. She is a lovely lady herself and we enjoyed her company as much as we enjoyed staying in her home.
Merci beaucoup Veronique. We wish you well with everything and hope to maybe see you again one day.
