Better than a cat café, it's a Cat B&B! We offer you three of Minneapolis' finest felines for companionship during your stay, as well as a private bedroom and bathroom in South Minneapolis, with convenient access to downtown, airport, & neighborhood restaurants and shops.
5-min walk to a major bus route (#5) and 5-min bus ride (#23) to light rail station. Get around even more quickly with one of our bicycles!
Private room and bathroom within a 2 br/2 ba house in South Minneapolis. Room includes its own mini fridge & tea kettle. The bathroom is right next door to your room.
My partner and I share the house with 3 friendly cats who would love to cuddle with you (we can also keep them out of your bedroom if you'd prefer).
Guests have access to the kitchen, including coffee and tea. Guests are also welcome to use the common spaces, including the dining room and living room. In fair weather, we welcome you to enjoy your coffee or tea on the picnic table in our fenced-in backyard or people watch from the porch swing on the front porch.
We are happy to give you tips on what to see, where to eat, and how to get around, but can also let you do your thing if you prefer. My partner and I both work 9-5, Monday-Friday. My partner occasionally works from home upstairs. You might find us home on nights and/or weekends, though we also have active social lives and are often out and about. If you do find us at home, we will likely be making a home-cooked meal in the kitchen, watering our garden, or hanging out upstairs. We will do our best find the right balance of being gracious hosts without cramping your style.
We have 3 lovely cats, so this listing is ideal for cat-lovers. Mickey is an easy-going gray-and-white Maine Coon, Roger Barton is an independent orange fellow who loves catnip, and Loverboi is a playful orange cat who is always up for cuddles.
Though we clean frequently, with three cats there will inevitably be some fur that we have missed, so this is not an ideal set up if you have cat allergies.
What sets us apart from a cat café is that we encourage you to interact with our cats! Please feel free to pet and play with them. They will give you fair warning if they have had enough; we ask that if this happens, you respect their wishes. Upon your arrival, you can find out more about our cats’ quirks and personalities in the welcome book.
We encourage you to explore one of the nation’s most bike-friendly cities! We have bicycles with locks and bike helmets available for guests to use at no additional cost. Our only request is that you lock them securely.
My partner and I are both vegan, but do not mind if you bring animal foods into the house. We do prefer that you do not cook any meat in the kitchen. You may store any take out items you might acquire during your stay in your personal mini-fridge.
- No smoking please.
- We prefer guests do not prepare meat in the kitchen.
- In the winter, please use J's handmade bench to remove your shoes at the front door!
- We would appreciate if guests keep the volume down after 10:00 on weeknights as we both work 9-5 jobs and want to respect our neighbors.
Hello, my name is J. I live in South Minneapolis with my partner (EG) and three cats. By day I am a lawyer, but I also love playing soccer, board games (especially Pandemic) reading, and biking. I am a quiet, respectful house guest who doesn't need a lot of handholding when traveling, but I am always happy to meet new interesting people.
My partner and I often travel together. She works for a corporate foundation and is also an avid bike commuter who loves karaoke, vegan cooking/baking, and rollerskating. She is definitely the chattier, more extroverted one in the relationship.
We are both very clean and try to leave things in better shape than we found them. We are both very quiet and mature, not too into partying at our ripe old mid-30s age. haha.
We are always happy to answer any questions you have about us.
