Our mission is to provide you with a unique and unmatched guest experience. The house has a loose 1940s theme with a living, dining, kitchen, and 5 bedrooms. The room features a king bed with a private bath and is on the second floor.
We are located just a few blocks from the historic downtown district and Amtrak stop. Also just one block from the mighty Missouri River and riverfront park/trails.
With rental of the Bright Star room you will have access to: your private in room bath, the living room, dining room, front porch, sun room, backyard and patio. Kitchen available upon special request.
My husband and I make sure you have all your needs met and any questions answered, but then will retreat to our owners quarters to leave you to enjoy your stay. If you need us, just ring the bell in the hall.

Cancellations: We understand that changes in plans, emergencies, or other circumstances out of your control may cause you to cancel your reservation. Cancellations occurring more than one month prior to your check-in date will be given a 100% refund. Cancellations occurring more than two weeks will be given a 50% refund. Refunds will not be given if a cancellation is made within two weeks of your stay. Alternatively, you may re-book for any time within one calendar year of your original reservation (based on availability).
Check In/Out: Check in time is 3pm, check out time is 11am. If you need to check in earlier or check out later, please let us know and we will do everything possible to accommodate you.
Lost and Found: We are not responsible for any items left behind after your departure. If we discover that you have left something behind, we will contact you and make arrangements for its return (or disposal). If you believe you have left something behind, please contact us and we will keep an eye out for it.
No-Shows: Guests who do not show up on their reserved date without notification will not be refunded and will not be permitted to use their payment to re-book within a calendar year (as outlined in the cancellation policy). Guests may re-book but will be charged the appropriate rate in full.
Noise: DeBourge House sits in a residential neighborhood just a couple blocks from Downtown Washington. Please be mindful of other guests and the neighbors. We ask that loud outdoor activities cease at 10pm.
Occupancy: City ordinance limits occupancy at DeBourge House to 10 guests.
Packages/Mail: We will be happy to receive packages and mail set to you prior to or during your stay. We are not responsible for lost or damaged packages, and any packages or mail we receive for you after your departure will not be forwarded. If you wish to have these items returned or forwarded, you may email us shipping labels and schedule a pickup with your carrier of choice.
Parking: For individual room rentals, we invite you to utilize the free parking available on Johnson Street. If you have rented the whole house, you may also park in the driveway. Parking is at your own risk.
Payment: Payment in full must be made at the time of your reservation unless otherwise negotiated.
Pets: If you wish to travel with your pets, let us know and we will do everything in our power to accommodate you. An additional cleaning fee of $25/pet/night will apply.
Smoking: You may smoke on the back patio or front porch. Smoking is not permitted in DeBourge House. Smoking inside the house will result in an additional $100 cleaning fee.
My husband and I own DeBourge House bed and breakfast and love welcoming guests! I work in downtown revitalization and historic preservation and my husband works as a hotel manager in St. Louis. Between both our skill sets we will be sure you have a wonderful visit to downtown Washington, MO and the area.
