We reserved a cabin at the Angelus Oaks Lodge for 2 nights over the Fourth of July holiday. Upon arrival, we were immediately informed that we'd been upgraded into a more spacious cabin with a larger kitchen and queen bed... Bonus! Sunny and her husband run a charming retreat (that apparently had once been a stagecoach stop on the way to Big Bear). The lodge and surrounding cabins are very well-maintained, and our cabin -- while old (which lent to its authenticity) -- was incredibly clean and comfortable. We used the cabin as our base for daily hikes and, for that, the lodge is perfectly located. The San Bernardino Peak trailhead is literally out of the back door, and the Vivian Creek trailhead for San Gorgonio is a short drive down route 38. We loved staying here, and plan to return soon for another few days of hiking and relaxing in a beautiful mountain environment!
Secluded cabin in the middle of the snowy woods. We spent one night in cabin 6. Sonny was a great host showing us the lodge and got to play the piano and see the interesting keepsakes. The cabin was cozy and had two twin beds. Great stopover for a night 45 mins from Big Bear. What a beautiful drive and cozy warm cabin.
