2 Story/3BD/2.5 bath house, walking distance from the beach, coastal trail, and Main St.. We welcome families with children and pets. Sleeps 6 in a queen and a full size bed upstairs and a bunk bed downstairs. We live here year round but rent it while on vacation.
This house was built in 1890 and moved from Main St, Half Moon Bay to its current location in 1979. The guest house (casita) on the property was a speakeasy and was moved to its current location from Railroad ave in Half Moon Bay.
The house is well lit due to high ceilings and several windows. At night you can hear the waves as we are in walking distance from the beach. We are also in walking distance of Main St, shops and restaurants.
The downstairs bedroom is also an office and sleeps 2 in bunk beds. The master bedroom is upstairs with master bath and a queen bed. The second bedroom upstairs sleeps 2 in a full size bed and has a toilet and a sink. We also have buckets of Legos to play with. Santa Cruz and San Francisco are both 45 minutes away from us.
There is plenty of fire wood available to sit around the fire pit. Please enjoy the trampoline but we will ask you to sign a waiver for the trampoline as part of the rental agreement.
We also have chickens on the property so if you are bringing your pet we will be sure to coordinate the logistics. You may collect and enjoy fresh eggs.
You will have access to the fire pit, and trampoline. Depending on the season, you may have access to the vegetable garden as well.
We do rent the cottage next door and there will be a separate party staying in that private and fully-self contained space. Cottage guests enter through their own private entrance to the left of the garage. (Cottage sleeps 4 and can be rented, if free, for an additional $150-$200 per night)
We are available and accessible in person, via text, e-mail or phone--but give you plenty of space and don't ever intrude.
We have chickens so let us know if you have concerns about them and we can work things out to be sure you are comfortable. We also have a cat (Pedro) that lives on the property. He is set up with food, bedding, and water in the garage even though he might try his best to convince you otherwise.
We rent the casita separately unless you request it for your party. You should not be running into the casita guests too frequently as they have a separate entrance and private deck with their own fire pit but there is a possibility that you may run into them on the trampoline. Please be sure to introduce yourselves so you are all comfortable with each others' presence. We are very careful with who we rent our property to and make sure we do not rent to anyone who might tend to be noisy as we respect our neighbors.
We live in a tight community and our neighbors are also our friends and family so there will be plenty of support around the neighborhood for you while we are out of town. We provide a contact list as part of the house manual.
This is our year round residence and we love our home very much. Please treat our house and belongings with respect. Please do not hesitate to report any issues you may encounter and we will address it immediately.
A cat does live on the property. Pedro will be fully set up in the garage but he will try and convince you to pet him and let him indoors.
We also have chickens-- depending on your preference we can keep them in their enclosure or let them roam each day
The cottage, a separate structure with its own separate entrance will be rented with another party. There are no shared spaces with the cottage.
