Architectural home 1.7 mi from beach. Huge back garden is a true urban oasis, featured on the Venice garden tour, with hot tub, fruit trees, herbs and succulents. Home interior has design details that make this house both modern and inviting.
The home was redone by a top architect, making many of the views and details quite beautiful. The bathroom has a drop ceiling above the tub, which is surrounded by glass tiles and a textured window. There are many windows with interesting views. The furniture and artwork is tasteful and modern, with a slight ethnic feel. The large garden with its lemon tree, orange tree and cacti make this a tranquil getaway in the middle of a city. The kitchen and back door, lookout onto the garden.
The kitchen has all you would need, gas stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, disposal and all cooking and eating utensils. There is also a gas grill in back. Feel free to pick any herbs growing in the garden boxes and Meyer lemons from the tree. Sometimes there are oranges and limes too. Don't miss the cactus garden on the side of the house.
The jacuzzi is relaxing and surrounded by tree branches and plants. The TV has Netflix. The house has wireless internet. We also have a stereo and Blu-ray DVD player, DVDs and books galore.
We have two beach cruisers available and one child's bike and a child's razor. There are also books good for ages 6 to 9.
Because the garden requires upkeep, our gardener Ismael comes Tuesdays (usually at 1pm) and our neighbor Ian waters the garden every other day. Our manager Linda will come on Sunday evening to move the trash barrels from the side of the house onto the street for pickup. No one will enter the house (they will all enter through the side gate).
Guests will have access to the entire front house, entire yard and hot tub. There is a small casita at the back of the yard that will remain locked and unoccupied. The house and yard is entirely yours. Gardeners come on Tuesday afternoon through the side gate to the back yard as does our neighbor Ian (every other day) to water the vegetable/herb garden. Guests will park on the street (as our driveway will have our car parked in it which Ian will be using periodically).
Someone will be available to call for advice and meet you at the house, same day if something comes up.
Please no more than 4 people staying at the house. Please be respectful of the plants and energy use -- don't step on flowers, turn off unused lights etc. Smoking outside only. Please no loud noise outside after 10 pm.
Have fun and smell the flowers -- if they're in bloom.
