Private room with a king-sized bed in a charming two-story Victorian house built in 1875 located in East Bella Vista neighborhood. It is more like a residential neighborhood with one Thai restaurant and one bar/pizza place. I live with Baptiste and 2 other roommates. (We speak French, English, & Spanish).
The house is very spacious. Beyond being a very pleasant, comfortable, and clean place to sleep... The unique feature: In one word? Convenience! Located in a quiet neighborhood with much to offer. Easy on-street parking (a HUGE plus in the Bay Area). This place is perfect for those that want to explore the Bay Area or just have a comfortable place to stay.
Guest will have exclusive access to their room of course. They will also have shared access to the bathroom and the kitchen which has been set up for guests and gives a nice place to warm something up or have breakfast.
Baptiste and I live here full-time and are happy to give ideas on what to visit and what the area has to offer. Also happy to give a ride to the Bart Station for early risers wanting to see San Francisco.
Great way to discover all the magic the Bay Area has to offer: Alameda Island, Jack London Square, Downtown Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco.
A few blocks away from Bus (Lines 14/96/62) that brings you straight to the Bart. Bart ride from Lake Merritt station to downtown San Francisco or Berkeley is about 12 minutes. From our house to SF downtown you have to count between 30/40 minutes in public transportation (bus and Bart). But no issues with parking!
Close to both the 580 and the 880 so easy access for people with a car.
You will have exclusive access to the bedroom of course. You will also have access to a shared bathroom and the kitchen which gives a nice place to cook and/or have breakfast.
We live upstairs and the first floor is shared with 2 other roommates. They both are very quiet and respectful of others' privacy.
Even if I travel a lot, we live here full-time and are happy to give ideas on what to visit and what the area has to offer. Most of the time, we welcome you in person and we respect your privacy.
The Bay Area is very congested, you want to psychologically prepare to spend a fair amount of time getting around. I have gotten very strategic about how I travel in the last three years!... For example, if I am going to downtown San Francisco, I take my car and leave it near the Bart station and take the metro into SF which is faster and avoids the expensive downtown parking! The ferry is also a very pleasant way to travel and parking near Jack London square is free!
We are not party animals and get up pretty early so we appreciate respectful and quiet tenants. We do not wear shoes in the house... and also prefer non-smokers or those willing to go outside to smoke.
The kitchen and bathroom are a shared space, out of respect for all guests and to help us keep our "no cleaning fee system" I ask that you clean up after yourself after each use (dishes, coffee machine etc…). I do a big clean between guests but while you are here, the idea is everyone picks up after themselves and "leaves the place as they found it"
No pets please
