Restored croft house, on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands, situated in a little bay, only yards from its pebble beach and slipway. Ideal for nature lovers, hill walkers, wild swimmers and beachcombers or for taking in the ever-changing views.
Bunavullin is a small crofting community in Drimnin, situated at the end of the road from Lochaline, in an area of old woodlands. An Camas is an attractive end terraced cottage, sleeping six, sitting right on Bunavullin Bay in a grassy garden, with slipway to the shore at the front. It overlooks the Sound Of Mull, with Ben More in the distance. It is a magical place.
There is abundant wildlife with regular sightings of otters, pine martens, deer, wildcats and sea eagles, sometimes even seen from the house. It’s a wonderful place for watching birds and there is a wide variety of wildflowers and lichen. There are also lots of passing boats to watch going up and down the Sound.
Our three bedroom cottage has two double bedrooms upstairs (one can be made into twin) and a shower room, with another double bedroom and shower room downstairs. There is a spacious but cosy sitting room with a wood burner, tv for DVDs (no tv signal), i-pod speakers and radio. Dining kitchen with Aga (winter only), dish washer and fridge. Wide hallway. Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer. Grassy unenclosed garden at the back and garden leading onto the pebble beach at the front. Garden furniture. Parking for two cars. Fantastic views.
Rhonda, who looks after the house for us, will be around if you need anything.
We have a Red Kite Travel Cot, Ikea Highchair and baby Bath. Wifi is by satellite and isn't fast enough for streaming. The tv has an HDMI socket.
Our calendar is kept up to date.
No pets, even though we love them. No smoking in the house (handy veranda at the back and bench at the front). Please respect our lovely neighbours. Six is the absolute maximum of number of guests the cottage can accommodate, including babies. Please leave the cottage as you find it and go easy on the wi-fi for future guests; in this remote location we can only get satellite broadband which is slower and has a small download limit. Thank you!
I'm a printmaker from Edinburgh; I make lithographs mostly about remote places. I like visiting art galleries, I like surprising things, I like to eat good food, I like walking and I especially like being by the sea in Morvern.
