Welcome to your private room with ensuite bath, mini-fridge/microwave & separate entrance! Centrally located in the hip H-St neighborhood. Enjoy DC with easy access to public transportation taking you right to the monuments and popular attractions! Walk to the Capitol building!
LGBTQ+ friendly. All are welcome :)
Up to 4 people can technically fit and works well for budget travelers but please keep in mind that it will be a tight fit.
Your room is clean, cozy and cool! The bed and bathroom are freshly cleaned before every visit, and we provide clean towels and linens. The room comfortably fits 2-4, with a full-sized bed and a day-bed couch. We have recently added a mini-fridge and microwave for your convenience as well!
Important info about check in/check out: We set the time to be after 6pm to guarantee we will be home and able to clean your room. Often, we will be able to let you in earlier so you can leave your bags, and then we can clean the room once we get home. We do ask you leave by 1pm though, so that our next guests can have the same option to drop their bags off :)

Some of the best features and amenities:
- Fresh sheets and towels provided
- Mini-Refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker en-suite. Coffee, tea, sugar and cream (in refrigerator) and cups provided.
- Your own key & private entrance - we do live in the apartment, and love to meet our guests, but you have the option of totally doing your own thing, too :)
- We provide a hair dryer, and soap, shampoo & conditioner for the bath.
- Easy access to public transportation, parks, and very close to the east end of The National Mall (the Capitol, National Archives, Supreme Court Building, Library of Congress, etc.). Our apartment is 2 blocks to Maryland Ave which is an easy walk or bus ride to the Capitol and National Mall.
- Easy access to great bars and restaurants on H Street and plenty of recommendations from us, just ask!!
You will have your own key and entrance, so come and go as you please! We're always available for questions, recommendations, more towels, etc., but we can totally leave you alone if that's your thing too. Our living space is in the other half of the apartment.
We like to meet all of our guests but often we meet them only briefly or not at all due to working and being generally very social and busy! We are always available through the Airbnb messages, or through text/phone calls. And again - since you have your own entrance, you really can come and go on your own schedule.
We will most likely be present during the entire stay, but as we're both teachers and leave early for work, we've found that most of our guests leave to see the sites after us, and get back home after we go to bed!
We're happy to talk about your stay anytime. Tell us what you're looking for and we are sure to have recommendations or ideas for places outside of the typical tourist stuff :)
You can be fairly certain you will have a quiet, relaxing stay with us - when we are home, we are most likely cooking or hanging out in our living room. We love to travel and hear of great places to visit so we're almost always up for sharing travel stories!
We use Airbnb's price recommendations to set prices in an attempt to offer a fair and reasonable going rate - if you notice different prices for different days, that is why!
We have found that the apartment isn't well-suited to kids, or people who have trouble with steps (there are about 5 steps to enter the apartment). The apartment is really geared towards couples, singles, and groups of friends traveling together. We like kids I swear! We just want everyone to have the vacation they deserve.
Our dog, Lola is really very friendly and loves people (not so much other dogs!), but she will bark when she first meets you - I wouldn't say you have to be a "dog person" to stay here, but if you are highly allergic or just really don't like dogs, we might not be the best fit for you!
Finally - we have recently gotten some feedback that the room is too crowded for more than 3 people. Our original intention in hosting was to provide a low-cost, neighborhood-friendly option to the hotels in DC, especially for groups of students or budget travelers. We have often hosted groups of 4 with no problem, but it is just one bedroom/bath - so if you are concerned about space for 4 or more, then our room is not for you!
Even though your key will also work on the door to the main entrance, please use your private entrance when entering and exiting your room. This is the door without the window and to the left of of the main entrance.
No smoking inside, but you do have a private entrance to the front. Please just use an ashtray/dispose of cigarette butts in the trash can.
Please do not change the thermostat in the living room. If you feel that the temperature in your room is too hot or too cold, please send us a message and we will adjust as needed.
If you need to remove trash during your stay, you can use the bins in the front of the apartment. Green bins are for trash, blue bins are for recycling.
We're pretty flexible and really just want to meet cool, interesting, traveling people! We're both pretty busy typically, and often get in late - we don't mind if you do too! We don't always meet our guests - since you have a private entrance, we are available as much or as little as you like. Your room is at the front of the house and ours is at the back with the living room in between so noise isn't usually an issue, but of course we try to keep it quiet and respectful and ask that you do the same. You're on vacation and deserve to have a great stay, so please just talk to us about what you need.
Hi! We're passionate about travel, music, adventure and good food and drink! We have a cute dog, Lola, who enjoys many of our adventures with us. We're also passionate about watching and traveling to watch our favorite sports teams! We're pretty much up for anything and we're always planning our next trip. We love meeting new people through Airbnb as both travelers and hosts!
