A basic ground-floor apartment in residential Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. 1.5 blocks to elevated J train which brings you easily to hip Williamsburg, Lower East Side nightlife, and all downtown Manhattan attractions.
This is a comfortable, basic apartment on the ground floor of an 1890s brick townhouse in Bedford-Stuyvesant. You can enjoy some original details as well as a completely private entry. It's an extremely convenient base for your trips into Manhattan.
Base Camp features a private entry, a living room with comfy pull-out futon, an eat-in kitchen, a bedroom with queen bed, roomy closets and full bathroom.
We work during the week but look forward to meeting our guests during the evening hours or weekends (we live upstairs with our two children). However, we realize that many of our guests are busy tourists and if our schedules don't allow us to meet, that's ok too.
We are available via telephone & Airbnb message service any during the day for questions or problems. Keys will be available from lock-box if check-in/out occurs during our work or late-night hours.
Can sleep four, with queen bed in bedroom and pull-out futon in living room. We have a baby cot available if you're traveling with a little one. We live upstairs and when we get ready for work and school in the morning, you may hear us. This shouldn't be a problem unless you are a very light sleeper who likes to sleep late!
No pets, please, or smoking in the apartment. We hope that Base Camp is a convenient place to chill out during your stay in NYC, but it is not a place for parties or loud music, so please do not use it as such.
We are a family with two young children who live above the listed apartment. Maura is a Spanish teacher in a Brooklyn public school and Alex is an antiquarian bookseller in Manhattan. We have lived in the neighborhood for 10 years.
We are excited to host visitors to New York and if you'd like some advice just ask us! We are interested to meet people from other places and we love to travel (wish we could travel more often but are currently grounded by our two tots!).
Here are some other things we love: cooking, calligraphy, cocktails, eggplant, classical music, Samuel Pepys, Southern barbecue
