A genuine cozy lived-in home. Two story 1920s black and white cottage nestled in the heart of Miracle Mile. Ideal for a couple, or as a writer's retreat. Walk to great cafés, restaurants, museums, and shops. Or travel anywhere in the city in minutes.
THE HOUSE: 1920s two-story cottage. A gem of design with a unique interior in a city full of stucco walls and laminate floors. Featuring black wood floors, white wood walls, exposed beam ceilings, windows and art on every wall. I've never seen anything like it in LA, or met anyone who didn't love it the moment they walked in.
MASTER BEDROOM: 200 sqft. The room is filled with beautiful light by day. A raised queen size bed, giant walk-in closet, and a comfy sofa. Ironing board and iron provided.
THE LIBRARY: 200sqft second floor, private room with a firm, twin-size, pullout platform bed, big enough for a cosy couple in a pinch. A spacious desk/work area, comfy reading chair, adjacent to shared main bathroom with shower/bath.
KITCHEN: Galley style cook-friendly kitchen, open-plan dining room, and a romantic little back yard with BBQ and seating for four or more.
WiFi is included, access to a laser printer, and other office peripherals can be arranged.
PARKING: If you have a car I can provide a guest permit for the very limited street parking ($5/night) or add off-street parking for two cars in the driveway for $10/night. There is also a safe place to store a bicycle if you have one.
I'm new to hosting with airbnb, so I'm not sure how much interaction is desired or expected, but I am known by my friends as a gracious and attentive host. I will do my best to accommodate special request. There are many incredible restaurants nearby, but if you're in the mood for a healthy organic home cooked meal I'm sure we can work something out. :)
Having lived in LA for twenty years I've learned that Miracle Mile is one of the most central and convenient locations in the city. Very close to major museums, shopping, nightlife, as well as casual and fine-dining.
Served by several major bus routes within a block or two with routes that extend from downtown to the beach, from Hollywood and the Valley and nearly the airport. The subway is coming... in 2019, but in the mean time its a 10 minute bus ride.
DRIVE TIMES: Hollywood 10mins, Beverly Hills 10mins, WeHo 10mins, Downtown 15mins, Beach 20mins, LAX 25mins, LACMA 3mins. Studios: Disney/WarnerBros 25mins, Paramount 10mins, Universal 15mins, Fox 18mins, Sony 20mins, CBS 6mins.
But the real beauty of the neighborhood is the walkable local area. With eight cafes, six bakeries, and well over a dozen great restaurants within a few blocks. Art galleries, museums, grocery stores, pharmacy, FedEx, office supply, hardware stores, yoga, fitness, juice bars, frozen yogurt, clothing and jewelry stores, furniture stores, the list goes on. But don't take my word for it, check (website hidden) which gave my address a 91% score or "Walker's Paradise".
PARKING: Off-street parking for two cars in the driveway. There's also a rickety antique bicycle if you're feeling adventurous.
Use of the whole house including kitchen, dining room, and a romantic little back yard with BBQ and seating for four or more. WiFi is included, access to a laser printer, and other office peripherals can be arranged.
You'll have the house to yourself, text me if you need anything.
PARKING: If you have a car I can provide a guest permit for the very limited street parking ($5/night) or add off-street parking for one car in the driveway for $10/night. There is also a safe place to store a bicycle if you have one.
SECURITY: There are external security cameras monitoring the front and rear entrances of the house, and one covering any cars parked in the driveway. There is an additional camera inside the coat closet (to protect the security system itself). All cameras are recorded 24/7 and can be viewed via the TV in the living room.
The house is coming up on 100 years old, so be gentle. The glass in the windows can be delicate, doors sometimes stick, and there's a generally lived-in vibe to the place. If you're looking for a modern "hotel" style rental, this is not the place for you. This listing is suited for people who like charm, character, and a more lived-in style.
