I'm here most of the time with occasional sojourns to the San Francisco Bay Area and other similar regions. When I'm out of town, arrangements will be in place for another person to meet and greet you.
Creating art is generally a solitary and contemplative process. The goal of this space is to honor the quiet and solitude most artists require to create. Every guest is asked to acknowledge and act in accordance with this practice of quiet and consideration for others.
Here you may be only visitor or sharing the space with two other like-minded people sharing common interests of creativity, consideration and appreciation of being alive. Thoughtful interaction in the common kitchen and living area is encouraged; solitude and quiet for you and other visitors is available in your private room, outside in the fenced private backyard or on area walks to town or in nature.
I work as a fine art painter ( working in a representational style and specializing in portraiture. When I first found this property near the Taos plaza, I had a vision for it as a place for visiting artists, musicians and writers. It is quiet, cozy and convenient walking distance to everything essential including an art supply store (
The studio was custom built with artwork in mind. The large windows face northerly giving plenty of steady natural light year round. The floor is poured with radiant heat and open so you have plenty of room to spread out with your work.
I've given presentations here as well as painting workshops. Musicians and writers have been here already and thoroughly enjoy the creative environment.
