In the very heart of Bologna city centre, on the eastern side of Piazza Maggiore, a refined one bedroom apartment (65 sq.mt) on the fifth floor, with elevator only to the fourth floor, in Palazzo Banchi. Right beside San Petronio Basilica, it is named after the Medieval bank shops. The building dates back to 1412, whist the façade and the ‘portico’ were finished in 1568; in 2010 Palazzo Banchi was fully renovated, and it has been newly furnished in August 2014.
This comfortable apartment gives the unforgettable emotion to live at the very heart of Bologna, in the famous Piazza Maggiore or Piazza Grande, as the well-known singer Lucio Dalla used to call it.
The guests benefit from ample views of one of the most famous alleyways in Bologna Old Town, Via Clavature Not only is the apartment fitted with precious oak parquet flooring, but also has high-end finishes, such as air conditioning, independent heating, and sound-proofed, insulated windows and doors. The furniture is completed by some refined pieces of modern art and lithographs of famous Italian artists, that bestow an elegant, refined atmosphere to the ambience.
On the left of the entrance hall there is the living room, where the original exposed beams have been preserved and restored, thus becoming part of the room’s design. On the contrary, the furniture is simple and modern: the day area features a flat screen TV, a table for up to 5 people and three sofas (three single sofa beds).
The fully-fitted kitchen is at the back of the living room, and it has both dishwasher and electric oven.
An anteroom leads into the bedroom, furnished with a double bed (made of two singles), a pouf and a big custom-made wardrobe. The bathroom, with blue mosaic tiles, is equipped with tub. The laundry -with washing machine- is accessed from the living room.
House linens (sheets & towels)
Important: guests are required to pay a city tax, not included in the price. The fee varies from 1.50 € to 5.00 € per person per night depending on the value of the booking. The city tax applies only to the first 5 nights.
