Edwardian house in a quiet cul-de-sac in Islington, North London (N1). Ideally situated between the famous Angel and Upper St., and trendy Dalston and Shoreditch, all within a 10-20 minute walk. Transport options are extensive in most directions.
The house is very much a family house but is child free 50% of the time. There are 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin with ensuite shower, 1 single and a sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom and kitchen are new and well equipped.
A sunny 4 bedroom house with original period features (floorboards, window shutters, coving) with high ceilings and large sash windows.
Large rear garden, private, but separate from the building, it's 10 meters back from the house.
It is very central for anything you might want to do in London, but the house itself is in a quiet residential area with Victorian and Georgian streets and is close to two parks (Rosemary gardens and Shoreditch park). It is 100m from the Regents Canal along which you can walk to the Angel and Kings Cross in one direction and Dalston the other. There are some excellent gastro pubs within a few minutes walk (Rosemary Branch, De Beauvoir Arms, Scolts Head, The Lord Clyde, The Marquis), and Upper Street, famous for its fashionable shops, pubs, restaurants and theatres, is just 10 minutes walk away.
If you are working in the city, then you can be there in 15 minutes.
Its very safe and very central. Its easy to get anywhere from here with lots of transportation (see 'getting around' below).
Islington is a trendy "villagey" part of London, a place where Old London meets New London. You will find fish and chip shops that have been around for generations, next to sophisticated designer cocktail bars; antique markets next to designer boutiques.
The main street, known as Upper Street, is lined with lovely coffee shops, designer shops and antique shops (and of course estate agents!) and English pubs to sample a pint of traditional ale or classic cocktail.
We are also in walking distance to Hoxton and Shoreditch, which is well known for its amazing nightlife. The area is fashionable and has lots of restaurants, cool bars and on trend shops.
There are two local supermarkets open until at least 11pm.
Other attractions nearby include:
Camden Antiques Passage
Eclectic Spitalfields market
Columbia Road Flower Market
Broadway market - great street food
Petticoat Lane - famous for clothing
Brick Lane - vintage anything and the best curries in London
Camden market - Goth, punk and rock heaven. Cool T shirts
Exmouth market-great street food in the day and bars and restaurants
Smithfield Market-historic meat market and great bars and restaurants
The house is also moments from Regents Canal and I would highly recommended taking time to stroll 30 mins either upstream to Regents Park and Camden or down river to the beautiful open spaces of Victoria Park and the Olympic Village. There are lots of riverside pubs and cafes to make the walk even more enjoyable!!
15 mins taxi to St Pancras and Eurostar services
10 mins walk to Angel tube - Zone 1
10 mins walk to Highbury tube then further 8 mins on the Victoria line to Oxford Circus
Buses to everywhere - central london 30mins
18 mins to Westfield - the biggest shopping centre in Europe
18 mins to Olympic Park, home of the 2012 Olympics.

Hi I'm Eddie, I have lived in London since 1985, but am originally from Sheffield. I have three lovely boys aged 16, 14 and 10 who stay with me regularly. I work in media/advertising for my own company. I am also a qualified fitness instructor. Although older that the average age of Airb'n'b guests I still manage to retain some vitality, cycling round London, exercising in various ways and eating well.
That said...I love currys and beer and clubbing, not necessarily in that order or on the same night (sometimes..). Cooking, reading, films, martial arts and talking nonsense are also hobbies of mine.
