Two beautiful mudbrick cottages close to the Shoalhaven River, Seven Mile Beach and Berry ... just two hours south of Sydney ... five acres, overlooking river flats and Coolangatta Mountain ... walk to a winery!
The cottages are snug because they were built along passive solar principles. Most of the windows face north to let in the winter sun and there are wide eaves to block out the summer sun. Mudbricks give the cottages a high thermal mass to store heat and smooth out the day-night temperature variation.
In between the cottages is a large games room where your children and you can play foozball or table-tennis, have a barbecue or just relax with a book. There is also a pool table - sorry kids, adults only. Out the back is a badminton court for the more active. Or try the boulles court to see whether you are ready to take on the champions of France and Italy. Our latest favourite game is Kubb (also known as 'Viking Chess') which is popular in northern Europe
The cottages are self-contained. You only need to talk to us if you want to find out about the spectacular places to drive, cycle, walk or swim in the local area and which are our favourite wineries?
One of the many delightful local drives is a circuit past Cambewarra Lookout, through Kangaroo Valley to the historic Hampden Bridge, over the mountains again to Berry, along Beach Road to Seven-Mile Beach, past Coolangatta winery and then back home again. The drive can be done in an hour, but why not take a picnic lunch and make a day of it?
Cleaning fee is only charged for one night bookings. If staying more than one night, contact me to organise for the cleaning fee to be waived.
We have a bird sanctuary, chickens, goat and sheep. Dogs or cats are not welcome here.
