I was happy with the experience except the responses by the host. I made an offer and that expired after 24 hours. The apartment was till not rented. So, I renewed the offer and this time it got accepted. Maybe that was a sign and I should have gone somewhere else. They were quite flexible with the checkin in that I got to checkin at around 2pm instead of the regular checkin time. Given that our train was coming in at that time and the suitcases and children we had, I was grateful for the accommodation. However, that depends upon the person checking out and I understand that it may not be available early every time. The apartment was fine. Clean. Comfortable. However, it does certainly not look like the fantastic photos that are posted. These are very glossy professional photos of the place. So expect a decent place but not quite as good as the photos make them look. I contacted them about a second set of keys, the wireless not working, etc. However, even after three days I did not get a reply. Bettina forwarded the email to Giorgio, who did not reply. When I contacted them again after three days, they did reply and tried to get things fixed. The toilet seat was coming off. This got fixed. The knob that turns the shower from the telephone shower to the overhead shower was coming off. The repair person who came simply pushed the knob in and left. It came out the next day again. We had a baby and it was difficult to shower without the overhead shower. The repair person left black shoe marks in the shower and did not bother to clean them. We had to clean it late at night when we came back from touring the city. However, given this experience, we did not contact them to come again and fix the knob for the overhead shower. It was easier to manage than to clean their mess and all the guy did was to just push back the knob, which clearly did not work. They advertised the house with a checkout of 4pm but then sent me an email on the morning of the checkout that it is at 10am. By that time, we had already left. We came back a bit early and emailed them to check us out around 3pm. However, nobody came and we just left the keys in the room and left. I had sent 2-3 emails before asking about the checkout that was not answered. Basically, prompt communication is not their forte. And service. But the room is good. The location is not far off from the old town. About 15-20 minutes walk. The neighborhood is on the side of a busy street but not bad. You will possibly have a comfortable stay but don't expect prompt service or any service at all. Bettina is in Milan and things do not get conveyed to Griorgio.
Dear Prasenjit I have carefully read your review since it might seem unrelevant, but it always helps me doing my best to let you all have good apartments, with high standards to let you live a great experience all year round! :D The Belfiore apartment is a brand new apartment and it just has been restored. The care and attention to this apartment (and the other one in the same building that I call Rosselli) are very high, every detail has been thought carefully. I see that in your opinion the photos are glossy, but of course it has been done by a professionist, but I have also been there and it seems pretty much the same to me. Anyway tastes are tastes and in any case I am sorry you found it different compared to your expectations. I have personally spoken to Giorgio and the handyman that came at home to fix the shower. Unfortunately I wasn't there, but from what I could understand there must have been a misunderstanding on how to use the knob (not pulling it toward you but a rotation was needed to make it work) and this caused the problem right from the first time. Unluckily you weren't at home when the handyman came so he couldn't show you how to use it. Anyway also Giorgio, was very sorry for the late reply because of the peak season and the week end that believe me didn't help in this specific situation, and we all would like to invite you back in Florence in the future to let you live the experience of your life. Modern Belfiore 6 was an amazing apartment. Spacious, clean, well appointed. The rooms were large and modern, the bed very comfortable and loads of closet/drawer space. Air conditioning was perfect and there was a huge terrace which, regrettably, I did not get the chance to use. The place is near the train station and within a 15 minute walk to Florence central, yet just outside of all the crowds. Alessandro was very quick about meeting me at the apartment a little earlier than my scheduled time and very helpful in getting settled in. Very secure and safe apartment & location. The villa staff was incredibly helpful. I was there on business and ran into some issues so I called the villa offices and Anna Rostron saved the day, literally. Additionally, I accidentally locked myself out and Sara ran to my aid immediately and again saved the day. I can't say enough about the people that run this apartment. They are amazing. I'd stay here again without hesitation.
