My cosy home with two bedrooms to rent in coastal village of Fife, near Dunfermline, Culross - set of TV's Outlander series, 30 minute drive from Edinburgh and its Festivals. Good public transport and easy travelling distance to Glasgow, Perth, Stirling.
A lovely double bedroom with en suite and a south facing single bedroom (at a separate charge) with a private bathroom based in a 19th century farm building, with a lovely garden. It is quiet, near the Firth of Forth, the home of
a former BBC journalist who will try to ensure that your stay is comfortable and hassle free.
Kitchen-dining room during breakfast hours . I provide breakfast and It also may be possible for me to cook dinner at an extra fee. Wifi is available in the bedrooms. There's a lovely garden to sit in outside and wonderful coastal walks 2 minutes from the front door and private parking. My bedroom is on a separate floor which is "out of bounds".
If you love the cult TV series OUTLANDER, Culross is the real bewitching setting of Crainesmuir, Clare's herb garden and the homes of Geillis Duncan and her husband Arthur. It is a walk into Scottish medieval history. We are near many famous golf courses, including Gleneagles, and St Andrews.
Please take your shoes off on the ground floor, no food or red wine in the bedrooms or pets or smoking and the top floor of my home is private. I like to serve breakfast by 0900, but if that doesn't suit please say! Scotland has a reputation for serious drinking, but please don't follow suit.
Guests MUST contact me before they arrive, for directions and to be shown the parking space. I live in the Upper part of the Coach House with an entrance through a brown wooden gate at the right hand side of house. I will show you your room/s and share information of what is worth visiting and what's happening. I'll be staying here and of course making breakfast!
I am a former BBC journalist who covered major national and international stories, used to dealing with people from many countries who will try to ensure that your stay is comfortable and hassle free. I have travelled all over Europe since I was a child, spend time every year in South Africa and Italy and have visited India, Thailand, Egypt, USA and saw Syria just before the tragic War started and am still interested in national and international political and economic affairs.
I love the cinema and am a member of BAFTA ( British Academy of Film and Television) and lucky to be a 30 minute drive from Edinburgh where the famous Film, Arts Festival and Fringe Theatre are held in the summer. I go the gym, play tennis and bridge - none of them brilliantly but all with GREAT enthusiasm!
