This is a double room; a double bed, a double dose of windows so lots of sun and light on the second floor of our suburban New York home. Full dresser, full closet. Hall bathroom may be shared with another guest. We cannot accept smokers.
Our home is large and comfortable and our guests have told us they enjoy staying here. This double red room is on the second floor facing our quiet street with western and southern exposure from the two windows. It has a double bed, two small tables, a chair and a dresser and a television with basic cable. Wifi is robust throughout the house.
The newly renovated bathroom across the hall has a tub/shower, pedestal sink and a window so it is very cheery. You may be sharing it if another guest is staying on the floor. Down the hall there is a small table where two people can eat, read or have their morning coffee and look out over the front garden.
Morning coffee and tea are available but meals are not included. You are welcome to prepare simple meals in our kitchen. A small refrigerator is available for your use.
It is a very short walk from the house to the train to New York City, Greenwich and Stamford.
There is street parking but a car is not essential.
You are welcome to eat at our kitchen table or on our back deck in good weather. The family room television is available for the shared use of guests. Laundry facilities are only available for guest staying a week or longer.
I work from home so during the day I am available to answer quick questions but cannot take time from my work day for socializing, unfortunately. Of course I always like to get to know our visitors on arrival.
The owners are highly sensitive to the smell of smoke therefore we regret that we cannot offer our home to smokers. We do not allow pets. Please do not ask. There are an abundance of tables in our home, please do not eat on upholstered furniture or on the bed. You must recycle paper, cardboard, plastic and metal bottles, cans and take out containers. Rinse all materials containing food or drink before depositing in the recycle bin. Wet towels must be hung on towel rack. Do not put on furniture or bed. Guests should recognize they are staying in a family home.
