We love Breck because the town and mountains are so closely woven together. We love our condo because we are within a few blocks of the Main Street business district and Quicksilver Lift. We walk (or bike) and leave our car parked.
Located on the third floor, our condo is on the top level and looks into high branches of pine, spruce and aspen that closely surround the building. As one of the original resort town condos built in 1970, the structural wood beams, dramatic wood-burning fireplace and beautiful stained glass window provide a unique mountain character. Our goal is to create a quintessential balance of modern amenities within a relaxing retreat.
There are beds for 4 people (queen, two twins) + a queen sleeper sofa. There is a conversion bridge to make the twins into a king. The beds are made ready for you with sheets, blankets, comforters and pillows with extras provided. Linens for the sofa bed are also available for your use.
You have exclusive use of the entire condo for your stay.
There is one exterior parking space. If you have more than one car, the Town provides overnight parking at the Satellite Parking Lot for a fee.
The unit is accessed via a sidewalk through the wooded landscaping and up two flights of stairs to an exterior deck shared by 6 units.
The laundry (2 washers + 2 dryers) is in the basement and shared by the building.
The Columbine Pool & Hot Tubs (2 indoor + 2 outdoor) are open in the summer (Memorial Day thru Labor Day) and winter (during Breckenridge Ski Resort season). Access is restricted to condos in the Columbine neighborhood and less than a block away.
We live in Michigan but we have family in Breck and we're all available to assist you if you need it.
The Town of Breckenridge is located at 9600 feet above sea level. To make the most of your visit it's worth giving yourself time to get acclimated to the high altitude and to get in sync with mountain life. Take a day or two to get to know the layout of the town, scope out the places and activities you're interested in taking advantage of, and drink lots of water. Enjoy each moment, work into any strenuous physical activity gradually and let your days unfold. With a small town where everything is so close, it is easy to let individuals follow their own impulse and the opportunities to overlap will present themselves. There is much much more than you can take advantage of in a week.
State and local taxes of 11.675% are included in the pricing -- Breckenridge Lodging Tax (3.4%), Breckenridge Sales Tax (2.5%), Summit County Sales Tax (2%), Summit County Transit Tax (0.75%), Summit County Affordable Housing Tax (0.125%), and Colorado Sales Tax (2.9%).
We enjoy sharing our mountain retreat. We hope you enjoy your time here and treat it with care. We are new owners, we spend a lot of time here and appreciate any feedback on how to make your stay more comfortable.
Please be considerate of our neighbors, many of them do not rent out their units. Say hello if you see them.
Please take care of the door key and parking pass, and make sure they are left on the moose hooks upon your departure ... if either is missing there is a $100 fee for us to get them replaced.
Architect, walker/hiker (love cities & love the woods), prefer local restaurants including diners, trying to help save the planet.
We started sharing the extra rooms in our home because it seemed wasteful not to. Now we look forward to meeting each new guest and welcoming back returning guests. All have proven interesting to meet, easy to accommodate, charming and respectful ... who would have thought it would be so gratifying to be a host.
