Great location! Just steps from the main street (Corso Umberto), but far enough away to avoid the noise and congestion. Bed could use a few more pillows, but apart from that, the apartment has everything you need for an extended stay in Taormina. Air condition and WiFi were great. Loved having the small balcony off our room, as well as access to the beautiful views from the roof -- perfect for pre-dinner drinks or tanning. Our group was here for a wedding and rented all four of the apartments in the building, so it was great having everyone in one place while still having our own separate spaces (v.s. splitting a couple of more expensive hotel rooms and sleeping like sardines). Francesa was wonderful -- very welcoming and easy to reach when necessary. One thing to note about this particular apartment in the building: it's attached to the office (i.e., small room with the communal laptop, extra towels, pamphlets/local info, etc.), so you need walk through there to access your room (rather than accessing it directly from the stairwell like the other rooms). Since our group occupied the whole building and most of us had our own laptops, this space was largely unused apart from when Fancesca was onsite. However, the doors are relatively thin, so I could see how this might be annoying if you're concerned about privacy or people talking loudly outside your room. For us, it wasn't an issue, and I think having one of the few personal balconies more than made up for it.

I can say very honestly that Francesca's property was the highlight of my trip to Sicily. After sort of running around for 8 days, three days of total relaxation in our own space with a kitchen and remodeled bathroom was the perfect end to our trip. Everything was clean, quiet, funkily-appointed. The building itself is just above the main fracas of Corso Umberto and just far enough away. It's kind of between the super touristy part of Taormina and the locals-only stuff. Francesca was also the perfect communicator--thorough, helpful and detail oriented. She also had great feedback on where to go, what to do and what to eat.
Thank you very much, Chris :-) You are so kind!

Francesca has a wonderful apartment just two minutes off of Corso Umberto, the main street of Taormina. She has an incredible view of the coast and Mt. Etna. The apartment was very clean and is perfect for a couple, a family, or a group of friends. The directions and instructions to gain access to the apartment were very clear and easy to follow. I never met Francesca (I simply sent her a message on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) via the laptop at the common entrance of the apartment) but if she is as nice and wonderful as her apartment was, I can imagine I would really enjoy getting to know her. With the nearest grocery store (Punto) being only a third of a mile away and a delicious pizzeria (Pizzeria Varo) only a minute away there is a wide array of options for food. My best advice is to be ready to relax on the beautiful terrace upstairs and soak up the atmosphere and views of Taormina!

The apartment was located in a perfect area to get see, walk and have a great dinner if you did not want cook. I love the fact that is very clean, very well organized and quiet. The Balcony was the most important for me because I love to eat outside sitting and looking at the scenery of Taormina. This was my first I counter booking with Airbnb, I would highly recommend to anyone to use this apartment in Taormina. The view was amazing. The parking was horrible. You have to walk at least a mile up hill together to the apartment and it was very hard to find. The woman that manages the apartment was not very helpful, she had no clue how to give directions in both languages. It's been one week and I still have not gotten my deposit. It's a great location if you have a motor bike.
Dear Lauria, thanks for your feedback. We are very sorry about the inconveniences related to the stay of your brother in our premices. It has rarely been a problem for our guests to reach the apartment, but it is to avoid complications that we used to send the welcome email. We always hope this way to have the chance to discuss previously all the details with our future guests. Since you never replied to our welcome email we were not able to give you directions before hand and that is probably also why your brother unfortunately ended up parking in the wrong location, actually very far from the apartment. We didn't mean to be "not helpful" but it prouved very hard for us, even in a familiar place, to give directions : not because of a language problem but because we were not understanding where your brother was :( About the deposit we have no responsability about this particular issue. The deposit supposed to be refund to you within 48 hours the check out so we suggest you to contact the website directly. We really hope your brother and daughter were able to still enjoy their stay in Taormina.

First of all the view from the balcony really is this beautiful! I arrived very hot & tired after a train ride from Siracusa and took the little bus that runs you up the winding road from the station to the actual town for $1.8 euros. It is then about a ten minute walk uphill to the apartment and once you are there you will realize there are little stairways throughout the town to connect you to shops and cafes so you don't have to always walk the narrow streets with cars & scooters whizzing by. The communication with both the property manager and the owner was excellent and I found the keys exactly where they were supposed to be and let myself in. After figuring out how to open the shades I just loved the view of Mt Etna out one window and the sea from the balcony off the living room/kitchen. The owner Francesca told me where to find the wonderful little local supermarket so I could stock the refigerator with everything from milk and eggs to fruits and vegetables, meats and cheeses - even breads and coffee. The stove was easy to operate and the fridge kept everything cold as soon as I plugged it in. Even though scooters and cars do buzz by below things did quite down at night and I slept very well in the bedroom with closet and extra pillows if I needed them. There was television and wi-fi and as others have noted a lovely roof garden with shower and new garden furniture Francesca was installing while I was there. The bathroom is small, but clean and operational with a European "telephone shower" that comes right out of the wall between the sink and toilet and drains in the cement floor - I had no problems using it. This apartment has a wonderful location where you can walk to the Greek theater for a view you'll never forget or down to the main street to shop till you drop or sit and enjoy a fabulous gelato from one of the many pastry shops. I would return here in a heartbeat!

This place is in a fantastic location. We felt it was over priced for what was supplied in comparison to other places we have stayed, even in Taormina. Shower was dirty and kitchen facilities were bare minimum.
