Our beautiful compound at the edge of town has a desert garden between two buildings, all the modern amenities, and a roof deck featuring gorgeous views for miles in every direction. About 1.2 miles from the center of town, the house is comprised of a front building that is the living/dining space, and the back building, which has two bedrooms. (Each has a full bath.) It's a short walk between the two under a grape-vine-covered pergola and past blooming flowers.
Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis. If you are considering bringing a pet with you, please check with us first. We just like to know who our animal guests are and more about their habits before saying yes. The yard is not fenced in, and we do ask that you clean up after your animal in the yard, and that animals stay off the furniture.
I am a writer who splits my time as much as possible between Brooklyn, NY, and Marfa, TX. Both homes that I rent out in these places are very dear to me, as are the town/city they are located in. Though a couple thousand miles apart and vastly different in size, both Brooklyn and Marfa are founded on a deep sense of culture, history, art, architecture, and nature (this last one is more evident in Marfa!), and there are amazing people to be found in both places. Home to me is a place where there is a vivid sense of warmth and color, where books and paintings can be found, where friends and family can eat and laugh, and you can rest your feet and head at the end of the day.
