The amazing, large 2 Bed 2 bath town home, has an ocean view and is 40 feet from Beacon's Beach. Its large fenced front yard is perfect for families and pets. The entire building has two town homes. One is upstairs and the this home is downstairs. The area is the quintessential 1960's beach town with restaurants within one block.

A perfect relaxing beach retreat; the oceanfront Townhouse has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and is just 40 feet from the and stairs that lead down to Beacon's beach. We are literally just across Neptune from Beacon's. As they say less than a "stones throw." This is the only home in this area with a large oceanfront grass yard. The yard is perfect for families to comfortably spend time inside and outside together as well as have a safe place for pets. The home has just been completely remodeled inside and and has an updated look along with the character for which Encinitas is famous.

The home includes 2 private parking spots, 2 soft surfboards, boogie boards, beach chairs, and beach toys. Just arrive and you are ready for a wonderful day at the beach. The bedrooms are well acquainted with Queen beds and matching bedroom dressers. For larger groups, we have two convertible futons, each with sheet and comforter set. The entire home is very nicely furnished and well outfitted for our guests.

The area is the quintessential 1960's beach town, with modern splashes of luxury and tons of eclectic soul. The cliffs across the street the boast views of the entire coastline and the stairs that lead down to world class, Beacons Beach. The home is also just blocks away from several great places to eat or have a drink.

It is a short walk to Coast Hwy where you will find unique boutiques, mouth watering Mexican food, local coffee houses, antique stores, a new and used record store, and so much more! Stroll down a little further on the weekends and stop by the Seaside Bazaar, North County's only open-air market. At night, enjoy home cooking in your oceanfront rental, or check out one of the local neighborhood restaurants such as Public House, a small place serving up great food and drinks. Or maybe you would enjoy Bar Leucadian, a neighborhood bar that has been there since 1946.

Historic Coast Highway also just blocks away, is home to trendy restaurants, chic boutiques and art studios - great for walking around in the sunshine. The Old Coast Highway continues south through Old Encinitas, through the heart of our lost-in-time 'old downtown' - right past Swami's Beach. Legoland is only a 10 min drive (about 6 miles) and we are about a 30 min drive to Sea World and the San Diego International Airport. The San Diego Botanical Gardens are 2.5 miles away and is a very beautiful place to visit.
Beacon's is still a 'surfer's heaven' where you can watch the greatest surfers in the world practice their skills every day.

This property is amazing. The large Oceanfront grass front yard makes for one of the most unique beach homes available in this area, as well as the ocean view and wonderful sunsets. We are just across the street from Beacon's Beach Access. As such we are within ear shot of the Amtrak train. It doesn't bother most guests but we are installing sound proof windows for our Very light sleepers. Most of our guests say that a fan is enough not to hear the train.

2. People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.

3. All of the units are privately owned; the OWNERS are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The OWNERS are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

4. NO PARTIES. Outside Quiet hours are between 9 pm and 8 am. This is a residential neighborhood, so please respect the privacy of your neighbors. Neighbors are very sensitive to noise and will notify property owner immediately of any disturbances.
5. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order

6. Only use furniture/appliances for their intended uses.

7. Pets are permitted only with prior approval and the Pet Addendum must be completed.

8. Parking is limited to 2 vehicle(s). Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.

9. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units.

10. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order. Only use appliances, furniture, and electronics for their intended uses. Appliances and Electronics are not guaranteed; Repairs will be made as soon as possible. No refund due to failure. Refunds made if due to act of god (e.g. fire, mandatory evacuation, etc.)

11. Beach Equipment: Recreational beach toys/equipment is provider by OWNER. GUEST assumes all responsibility of provided equipment. Misuse of this equipment will result in removal from the premise at the OWNER’S discretion. Please clean all sand and debris off beach equipment prior to returning to the premise.

12. Abusive/Offensive language will not be tolerated. OWNER can dismiss GUEST at any time due to Abusive/Offensive language towards guests, neighbors, agents of the owner, as well as the owner.

13. GUEST shall not perpetrate, allow or suffer any acts or omissions contrary to law or ordinance to be carried on upon the leased premises or in any common area. Upon obtaining actual knowledge of any illegal acts or omissions upon the leased premises, GUEST agrees to immediately inform OWNER and the appropriate authorities. GUEST shall bear responsibility for any and all illegal acts or omissions upon the leased premises and shall be considered in breach of this AGREEMENT upon conviction of GUEST or any of GUEST’S family or invitees, licensees, and/or guests for any illegal act or omission upon the leased premises- whether known or unknown to GUEST.


14. Laundry machines are provided for your convenience. Laundry hours are from 8:00am-9:00pm daily. Please keep laundry room/area clean at all times. Clear out all lint traps before/after every use. OWNER assumes no responsibility for any damage/loss to personal belonging.

The OWNERS are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. Please pay attention to posted signs. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.

This is our fourth year to this house. We love it!! Everything is new and up to date. Literally in front of the beach . Richard is so accommodating and responds immediately to any questions or concerns. We will be back next year. Can't wait

We had a great stay at Richard's place. It was on a quiet street and was only a stone's throw away from the beach. The location was a great midpoint (20-30 min) to all the places we wanted to hit and only 15 min to Legoland. Communication with Richard was a breeze. I would definitely come back with my family the next time. Thanks!

Richard's house was wonderful. It is clean and welcoming. The rooms are very large and the bathrooms are nice. The house is nicely decorated. The yard is beautiful and very comfortable. We were traveling with our toddler and we felt that the house was very safe and easy to let him run around and explore. He loved playing in the grassy yard and watching the people come and go from the beach. The location is perfect. It is directly across the street from the trail to the beach. It was convenient enough to walk down to the beach any time we wanted without any hassle. Richard provided everything we needed to have a great time. There were surfboards, boogie boards, chairs, toys, an umbrella, and probably more that we didn't get around to using. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals there. If you don't feel like cooking, there are plenty of places to eat nearby. We visited on a particularly warm weekend, but by just opening the doors and windows the breeze from the ocean kept the house very comfortable. We didn't need to use the ac. The corner the house is located on is very busy, so it is easy to hear the traffic from the front bedroom. It is also located near the train tracks, so we were able to hear the train. This was more of a benefit for us since our toddler loved listening to the train. You are able to hear the people upstairs, but this also wasn't a problem. Check in was easy and Richard was easy to communicate with. My family would love to stay here again!

The house was exactly as described, and even better appointed than we had expected. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful, he even answered the phone in the middle of the night and addressed some noisy neighbors on the spot. The beach across the street is perfect, surf was workable every day we were there, and it wasn't too crowded. The house has great beach toys for use. We'd love to come back!

Absolutely perfect location ! Beacons beach is right out front. You can come through the gate and rinse off sand on his shower deck. Enjoy a lovely patio with a shade tree. The house was so clean! The bed was so so comfortable. (I'm very picky about my bed and bedding) and I slept wonderfully. The yard is fenced in so you can bring Fido. Note: the slats have a bit of a gap so if you have a small dog like a chihuahua just keep your eye on him. Great time , great city. Richard was a perfect host! Highly recommend

Richards place was the perfect vacation spot! Right across the street from the beach, there were beach chairs, bloggers boards, and surf boards available for our use. The house was equipped with everything we needed for the perfect stay and it was a close drive to Encinitas, local restaraunts, bars, and grocery stores. We will be looking him up again next time we vacation to San Diego.

My name is Richard Norwood and I just built my first vacation rental at my Property on Tourmaline St. I have spent over two months going over every detail and I am excited to say that I am very pleased with the product and I am excited to share it with the upcoming guests. I have been in Real Estate for over 10 years. After I graduated from UCLA, I was a high school teacher and would eventually like to go back into teaching, however, Real Estate has always paid the bills.
