Your home away from home in Portlandia. Our house is in the very walkable, close-to-everything northeast. A few blocks from Grant Park, a couple blocks to a bus stop and just minutes from downtown. It's a spotless, uncluttered, and calm oasis.
We've spent plenty of time on the road and many of the nights away have been in other Air BnB homes so we know what makes a good space. A comfortable bed, plenty of pillows, clean towels, quiet neighbors, a central location and a spacious living space all make for a restful visit. This is what we like and this is what we offer.
Guests will have access to our home. If they need to do a load or two of laundry, want to grill in the back yard, want to chill out and watch DVDs or cook a nice meal, this is our home and we have everything needed so you may make yourself at home. Please take care of what you use and treat it gently. The garage will be locked and things inside it will not be accessible to guests.
Very little to none. We will be renting our home out while we are out of town. We will have friends/neighbors who will help check you in and out, and we will be available by text or call, but it will be unlikely you will actually meet us, though we're happy to email or chat with you prior to your visit.
We have a dog, and while our home is very clean, it will probably be unsuitable for someone with allergies to dog fur.
No smoking in the house or on the property, even outdoors. No pets, please.
We've traveled to over 35 countries and have used Airbnb to get accommodations in several of them. Now we're back in the US and would like to open up our home to other travelers. We have a 17 year old daughter who also loves travel, and a dog, who doesn't get to travel with us much (and won't be in the house when you're visiting). Andy's an engineer in the nanotechnology industry, while Loey is a writer. We're both foodies, and can recommend a long list of great places to eat while you're in town.
We love our city and we love our home, and we can't wait to share them with you!
