For your consideration, our home, located in the historical section of Belfast, is just three blocks to Penobscot bay and downtown shops, restaurants.
We offer two separate, furnished bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, ceiling fans, air conditioning, flat screen television w/basic cable, and two separate full baths. A convertible sofa in the living room accommodates up to two additional guests.
We are using our 2017 fall and winter seasons to remodel our home to better accommodate our guests. Guests who stay with us in 2018 will have remodeled master and guest bathrooms and new flooring and fresh paint in the living room and hallway. All the windows in the living area are being replaced and new siding going on. Aside from this lovely, spacious, and street level accommodation, you may also enjoy the convenience of the attached one car garage, bordered by sidewalks to take you to downtown or the near by harbor parks.
Our guests will occupy the single floor living area of our ranch style home. A closet and small storage room will remain locked, as well as the daylight basement area.
I will try to meet guests initially, upon their arrival, with keys, however we are currently installing a new front door that will utilize a numeric digital keypad for the deadbolt, and guests may let themselves in with a coded number unlocking sequence. I will usually be available by telephone/email for inquiries during a guest's stay, but not always, as my job demands I travel, from time to time.
There are numerous fairs and events in and around Belfast. To name a few, Arts In The Park, The Celtic Festival, Music In The Streets, The Common Ground Fair - please check "Our Town Belfast" on the web for complete listings of live theater, art shows, and musical presentations, etc., that are offered throughout the year.
This is a quiet neighborhood, comprised of retirees and bed and breakfasts. We expect our guests to conduct themselves accordingly. No pipe or cigarette smoking in the home is allowed. Smoking in the garage, with the garage door open, and out of doors on the property, is allowed.
(BOB) I am a musician from birth and a newspaper publisher as a career, publishing "The Maine Journal of Antiques & Collectibles" monthly for 25 years, and it continues to this day. Currently I entertain regularly at local nursing homes and assisted living facilities, singing and playing American standards on the piano for those who can join in each month. I also enjoy painting on board in acrylics - a couple of large pieces hang in the home. I'm a collector of many things and plan to open a used bookstore with antiques and collectibles by mid- 2017, here in Freedom, Maine.
(JUDY) Judy started out as a waitress and short order cook, then later became an Administrator's Assistant at a local Nursing home and has been employed by the same facility for 30 years. Judy also is a talented chef and an excellent quilter of patchwork quilts and wall hangings.
