'Near Holyrood Palace. FREE parking/Wifi' is a fully owner managed/maintained, spacious, 2 bedroom apartment close to the Heart of Historical Edinburgh (see our map “photo”). The flat benefits from free WiFi and free on street parking, is just moments from the Palace of Holyrood House (the Queen's residence in Edinburgh) and is just 5mins (off road) walk from Scotland’s premier tourist hub, namely the Scottish Parliament / Arthur’s Seat / Royal Mile / “Dynamic Earth” / Holyrood Palace area.

This modern central Edinburgh apartment occupies a quiet position on the first floor of a recently built (1997) development, situated near the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac that provides pedestrian access to Holyrood Park. There is a Secure (buzzer) Entry System with an intercom providing additional security, while the stairwell & surrounding gardens are well lit & kept clean / in good repair by paid “factors.”

The apartment is situated pretty much as close as you can get to all the historic Old Town sites and visitor attractions in Edinburgh with FREE on street parking. Most of central Edinburgh is unfortunately (expensive!) metered parking zones.

The apartment comprises an attractive, bright (south west facing), living room with plenty of room to kick back and relax after a hard day out seeing the sights or attending a work event. The living room has a large sofa bed, which pulls out very easily to form a good sized (6Ft 8') double bed, a separate couch and comfortable chairs. In addition there is a modern flat screen TV with DVD player (various DVD’s provided), as well as an iPod docking / speaker / charger.

The modern kitchen is well provided with crockery, cutlery, glasses and kitchenware, a cooker, washer/dryer, dish washer, fridge, freezer & microwave. There is also a dining table which comfortably seats 5. In the vicinity there are a number of smaller shops as well as (7mins walk) the substantial Meadowbank shopping centre that includes a Sainsburys, TK Maxx and other outlets. However, for those that prefer to dine out, cosmopolitan Edinburgh is renowned for its large selection of restaurants, with a variety of restaurants / pubs nearby.

There is a spacious master bedroom with a King sized bed & walk through wardrobe to a recently installed en-suite shower room (including toilet & basin). The second bedroom is similarly large with 2 single beds and built in double wardrobes. The bath room, which has recently been modernised, comprises of a toilet, wash hand basin & bath with modern shower / shower screen.

A pleasant 5 minute walk through Holyrood Park takes you to the buses at the foot of the Royal Mile (including an Airport Link / tourist bus stop) or alternatively to London Road, a major access road, whose numerous bus routes provide access to the main tourist and shopping destinations.

As you would expect, crisp fresh linen, bath and hand towels are provided for guests and a travel cot and a highchair are available (FREE of charge) to guests upon request (you will need to bring your own linen for the cot). In addition, local information / literature, an iPod docking station and a small selection of books, DVDs & board games have been provided for your perusal.

The flat is clean and very comfortable, with everything that one needs for a good stay. It is very convenient to the Royal Mile and to public transportation. A very easy walk to Holyrood Palace.

Eleanor's apartment was exactly as advertised. It is located at the bottom of the mile so if walking uphill is a problem for you, rethink location. We lost hot water on our last day which was a bit of a problem,but otherwise all was well.

The apartment is very spacious and is perfectly outfitted. The kitchen had everything you could need and Eleanor even provided started food and milk for us. She was very welcoming and provided us with a binder full of information about the apartment and Edinburgh sights. The location was convenient since we planned to climb Arthur's Seat and go to Dynamic Earth which are both within walking distance. We have stayed at several Airbnb places in Europe and the US and Eleanor's was by far our favorite!

Eleanor was welcoming and very flexible meeting us after delayed flight. Apartment neat and tiddy and bright and had everything we needed for 4 people. Well stocked kitchen and lovely to come into bread and tea to help ourselves. Convenient location, quiet complex.

Spacious and sunny, the apartment is an excellent base to explore Edinburgh. It's definitely larger than we needed for the 3 of us but it was nice to have the space and for our son to have his own room. Eleanor was pleasant and accessible throughout our stay. If you are traveling with children, she has a good quality high chair and cot/crib available. There is ample parking in the lot behind the building. People with disabilities should be aware that there is one flight of stairs to the apartment.

We really enjoyed our stay at Eleanor's flat. The property was as advertised and slept 6 easily (3 adults/3 children). Eleanor provided us with easy to follow directions and met us at the door. The location was fantastic, within walking distance to most of the city center attractions. I would definitely recommend flat to anyone planning a trip to Edinburgh.

In addition, we have created very thorough welcome folders and email our guests’ apartment specific (4 page) brochures which have instructions on the various modes of transport to get to each apartment, as well as information (& a map) on nearby bars / restaurants / shops etc and links to things-to-do while in Edinburgh.

Our business is our income, meaning we’re fully incentivised to ensure that you have a great time and (hopefully) come back again and/or recommend our apartments to your friends! We personally respond to each and every email, ensure our welcome literature is up to date and, as life-long Edinburgh residents, are on hand to answer your questions.
