Large new loft room with king size bed and your own private bathroom. Free parking on quiet street. Superb location just 10 mins walk to the historic town, University, market, shops and museums. Excellent local riverside pub and restaurants nearby. Breakfast included. Friendly family home with good internet access. A pleasant walk to Grantchester village (where the TV serial is filmed). The house is secure, and is fitted with new draft-proof windows to maximise comfort and warmth in winter.
This is a new loft room with lots of space, windows facing east and west, and another large window in the ceiling. It feels incredibly light and airy, and you can even see the spires of Cambridge! There's a new carpet, and an en-suite bathroom (shower) with lovely hand-made Iranian 'fish' motif blue tiles, for your exclusive use.
The house is in a street of typical Victorian houses built around 1900 for University staff. We have kept many of the original features of the house, so it looks very traditional.
The internet connection is very reliable and fast, as I work from home and rely on a good service!
Self-service breakfast (cereal, toast, yoghurt, fruit) and tea or coffee is provided so you can get up when it suits you. You can make tea and coffee in the kitchen any time.
Feel free to watch TV and sit by the fire in winter if you like!
I love Cambridge, and know many nice places to go for all different tastes and interests. I'm happy to help you with finding your way around if you need. My teenage daughter and I like meeting new people and talking to our guests - when you are not busy enjoying yourselves in the city!
For families travelling with children there is a single mattress that can be made up with proper bedding (sheets/duvet/pillows etc) suitable for a child up to 16yrs.
There's just 3 simple requests:
1. Please take off shoes when you go upstairs.
2. If you use the kitchen please leave everything as you found it.
3. There is no smoking in the house.
I enjoy growing fruit and vegetables and making my own jam. I'm enthusiastic about where I live and hope to pass that on to my guests - not just the touristy things, but all the other sides to Cambridge that most tourists won't see.
I travel for work all over the world and love to meet people from different countries.
