Waterfront Cottages Gerard Drive
2 - 12岁

Idyllic beach house and cottages look over Gardiners Bay on famous Gerard Drive in artsy, sleepy, breezy Springs. Full of charm main house has 2 bedrooms. Separate back cottages sleep two each. Very special place with water views from all rooms.

This is the real deal, classic, casual Hamptons. Run in and out of the bay for swims all day. The house has only one neighbour on one side. The other sides have full water views. There is a public beach to the right of the house and it sits across the road from the Accabonac harbor wetland reserve where deer jump and birds nest. The main house has two bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed. The second "bedroom" is a floor-through loft with three beds. There is a large living room and "games room" and large kitchen. Plenty of tables for all kinds of configurations. However there is only one bathroom in the main house, and an additional outdoor shower. There are two sleeping cottages out back providing three additional bedroom. Two rooms have double beds, and one room has two twin beds. One of the cottages includes an additional small kitchen, bathroom and shower.

There are full linen and towel supplies, kitchen supplies, wireless internet and laundry. This is a beloved family summer cabin built in 1900s, owned since 1952 in one of the most special spots in Springs.

We are looking for one, two or three longer term rentals this season (ideally to make up 6 weeks in June/July/August/September). There would not be anyone on site.

This is an ideal set up for extended families.

We do not rent to groups of unrelated adults, as per local laws.

Alternatively, special deals might be made for April, May and early June potentially with owner on-site.

We have an extended contract for this property. Rental registry number is 16-2980.

The beach to the right of the house is public and locals visit to swim and fish. People also park next to the house to go for walks. It is very friendly however you should be aware that this is not a private beach.

No smoking inside. Cats and small dogs ok. No fires on the property. All water activity is at the tenants own risk.

You would be hard-pressed to find a more perfectly situated house. The location is truly beautiful. It's right on the water so the sounds of the waves lapping against the shore will lull you to sleep every night. Breathtaking sunsets and stunning sunrises await you. This is a rustic New England style camp. One main house and several cabins make this a perfect place for an extended family vacation. If you want a quiet holiday away from the Hamptons "scene" this is the house for you. Watch the ospreys hunt for food over the marsh, see sailboats and fishing boats traverse the bay while you sit in the adirondak chairs on the sand. The fact that this house has been in the family for years is obvious from the family photos, artwork, books, and the growth chart on the door frame of the children who grew up there. Visit Jackson Pollock's home a mile down the road, rent paddle boards nearby or just stock up on food and never leave this beautiful patch of heaven. Naomi is very responsive to all concerns and questions. We loved it.

This was an lovable old place with character and sleepy charm. Initially we were slightly disappointed in a few older (stove, fridge), or missing (screens on windows in sleeper loft) aspects of the property. We soon forgot about the things it didn’t have and developed a real appreciation for the things it did have; gorgeous view, a few comfortable adirondack chairs from which to enjoy it, the sound of the water, all the things we really needed. The location was phenomenal and called for long walks and easy, breezy bike rides down to the end of the road - which leads to a peninsular beach with a cove that was open and uncrowded. The water was clear and gorgeous and very swimmable. The bedrooms in the main house overlook the bay and the breeze blows all night long. You wake up to classic picturesque bay views with wildly blowing sea grass and the sounds of waves lightly breaking against the shore. The house inspires a nostalgia for long ago days, lazy and carefree. We really enjoyed ourselves.

What a wonderful, relaxing, and beautiful place to stay -- like summer camp for kids and grownups. It's our family's second time renting here and we went with a rotating group of three adult couples and 4-6 kids. Absolute heaven for everyone. Let me be clear that this is a rustic, camp-like experience -- there is no AC in the house, decor is a mixed assortment of vintage knickknacks and family memorabilia, and there are three sleeping cabins in the back (one with a bsthroom) and a lovely fun sleeping loft above the kitchen, where my 5- and 6-year-old loved to hang out with their cousins. We grilled and cooked lavish meals even in the basic kitchen and ate them on the picnic table outside, overlooking the bay and with sunsets straight out of a movie. The fishermen who came to fish at the beach right next to us each sunset were friendly and unobtrusive. I took every shower outdoors and hung out wet suits on the clothesline. The kids ran in and out of the house all day (the sound of the screen doors will always remind me of this cottage), climbed on the rocks and swam in the little cove right under our Adirondack chairs so we could keep an eye on them. We took bike rides down to the beach (there are four bikes provided, a bit rusty but functional), visited the Jackson Pollock House and the incredible LongHouse Preserve, and enjoyed the amazing, authentic, non-sceney Springs area the way it's meant to be enjoyed. Thank you, Naomi and family! We can't wait to come back.

Cute waterfront cottage! We loved our stay at 51 Gerard Dr. It is an incredible location with good energy. It is a real bohemian cottage experience. Very old school and just what our family needed. The accommodations are very low key. If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. I also do not think it is appropriate for small children at all. If you are looking for a place that is truly a maritime experience then this is it. Every window has an amazing view of the bay or the marsh. We cooked just fine in the kitchen. The house can get hot so be warned. There are ac units upstairs for relief. I suggested one be brought to the lower level. We only used one of the other cottages, the kitchen cottage and it was perfect for our 20 something son to have privacy. It was also useful because he is a professional voice actor and he had to record an important audition and it gave him the seclusion he needed. The house also sits next to a public use area, but for us this wasn't an issue at all. There are lots of birds and also deer. There is a nice buffer on one side of the house with a beautiful stretch of beach grass so it feels like you really have stepped back in time. If you are going to fish, it is a great spot to cast your rod. Just make sure you have a NY State registration. The marine patrol did harass us. There are insects outside. We do not use chemicals so we used incense that we brought and there was some provided. We would definitely return to this lovely cottage again.

Charming waterfront, beautiful views.

For a start there aren't enough stars in the universe that I could give Naomi and her lovely, adorable home. My wife and I decided to go there last minute and had the most wonderful time swimming in the crystal waters less than 15 meters from the bedroom. We cooked, read, napped and fell asleep with the oceans lullaby. It's secluded from the Hamptons madness and theres a lovely back road to Sag Harbor where there's a fantastic cafe called Sag Town which has great coffee. My favorite part of the house was the hoy outdoor shower next to a beautiful old tree that is much older than me I suspect. Like the house, Naomi was equally as charming an awesome. We can't wait to get back.

Great place for friends and family ... The springs are quiet and out of the way of the hamptons bustle. Lovely hosts, house and location.
