An upstairs one-bedroom apartment in a lovely suburban security-controlled townhouse complex, with gorgeous gardens, safe parking and a swimming pool. Conveniently located in north-west Joburg, an easy drive to Sandton, Rosebank or the city centre.
A north-facing spacious apartment in an absolutely gorgeous security-controlled (guards on premises 24/7) "townhouse complex" as we call it here in South Africa. One double bedroom with ample cupboard space. Bathroom has toilet, basin and shower. Well-stocked kitchen. One covered carport. There is a swimming pool in the complex.
The unit is on the first floor (no-one above), and looks out on a lovely green space. The area is suburban - beautiful and safe.
This is my own home, but I am working overseas at the moment, so you will have exclusive use of all parts of the apartment except my own bedroom and my office. Please note that the living area does contain some of my personal effects.
I'm away at the moment, so you'll have the place to yourself. There is a caretaker on site during normal working hours, so if there are any issues, he can be contacted for help. Otherwise my mother lives in Johannesburg and can help out if need be.
Wifi is limited to 10GB per month, so that's plenty for general email, web browsing, VOIP calls, youtube, etc, but not for long video chats, major video streaming or large downloading. Once the monthly limit is reached, the service is cut off. Additional data bundles can be purchased - just let me know (I'm always available on the usual electronic channels).
There is a TV in the apartment, but no reception for broadcast channels. I do have a DSTV dish and decoder, so if you want some TV channels, we can discuss the various available packages and what the cost would be. There is a DVD player and a hifi system in the lounge, and also a small radio in the bedroom.
If you stay for longer than 5 days, I will arrange a cleaner to come in and and do a general cleanup of the apartment.
I'm a 45-year-old South African, born in Johannesburg and lived here all my life. I have traveled extensively, both for work and leisure... the count is over 40 countries so far. I work freelance doing various bits and bobs (jack of all trades, master of none?), and at the moment most of my work is out of South Africa. When I am in Joburg, I'm usually not working very much, so I'm at home most of the time and I'd be available to help out with transport. I'm not much of a party animal, but I'll happily accompany single travelers looking for company on sightseeing excursions.
I like things to be clean, neat and organised and my home reflects that. As a guest, I'm... well.... clean, neat and organised :-)
