Right on the beach, this beautiful timber house is a perfect place to relax to the sound of the waves, while being cooled by the sea breeze. There are local bars & restaurants along the beach and the airport and Central Accra are 30 mins drive away.

Iroko Villa is a large architect-designed modern timber-framed beach house in Kokrobite, Accra, Ghana.

The house has four bedrooms (3 doubles and 1 twin) all with modern on-suit bathrooms and balconies.

There is a huge open-plan living area (plus a large outside deck), a modern kitchen, and a barbeque area making the house ideal for entertaining.

The large garden has a decked path onto the beach and an outside shower.

Ocean views and sounds are uninterrupted, as is the 24-hour cooling sea breeze.

The house is 30-40 minutes drive from the airport or central Accra.

There are a few local bars and restaurants a short walk along the beach.

There is a large international supermarket chain 10 minutes drive away

The house comes with a 24-hour watchman and a housekeeper, who will also cook and negotiate the best rates for the fresh fish and lobster caught in front of the house, which has tended to be a staple for my family when staying at the house.

Access to whole house. Access to Beach Front.

It is more like a camping than my usual Air BnB experience. The staff are fantastic, the challenge is the limit facilities and a rusty fridge. If we were more prepared it would have been better. The staff really saved the day, they arranged ice, bought and BBQ fresh fish, did all our washing and ironing, sorted out coffee in the morning, all of which would have been really tricky without them there. The location is great, right on the beach, the mosquitos and sand fleas are a problem but one you can, and should, prepare for. Data reception is great if you have a local SIM card. Kokrobite Kitchen, 1 km away is an easy walk and food is great.

Place is just as beautiful as it appears in the photos. Only issue is some of the amenities aren't working well, house definitely needs a little fine tuning.

Had a fabulous time at Iroko Villa, the perfect location for a gathering. The scenery was superb, the Villa was stylish. Adolf was exceptionally helpful and made the whole process easy, his recommendations for fish and lobster, made the stay more enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend it for gatherings similar to ours, as we will be back there again very soon.

A beautiful timber frame house with direct access to a clean, quiet beach. The bedrooms are spacious and the open plan kitchen diner is great for socialising. The staff Ayi and Georgina were friendly and willing to buy and cook a variety of seafood. The electricity at the house is very poor and the small generator was usually switched off for one reason or the other. This left us with no water, light or fans. Although by the sea, lots of mosquitoes at night and sleeping under the net was too hot. So we were either sweating profusely or being bitten by mosquitoes. As a result we didn't have a single decent night sleep. To make matters worse, the house has a Rat infestation problem. It is difficult to say if I would return to this property. The ocean and beach were fantastic, the delicious meals and the play equipment - all excellent. But, the rats, mosquitoes and sweltering heat at night are major put offs. I would suggest the host does the following to improve the property. 1. Be honest about the amenities available. There is actually NO television and NO wireless- Internet. Arrived at the property with my family to discover these amenities are not available despite being listed. 2. Provide a decent generator with enough petrol AND instruct the staff to leave it on throughout the night. Every single night I had to wake up 2-3 times to tell the staff to put on the generator. 3. Fumigation of the entire grounds and building to get rid of the Rats and Mosquitoes. There were at least 8 rats running around in the bedrooms and kitchen. The staff brought in a little kitten but I'm allergic to cats so it had to be taken away. 4. Provide Wireless Internet. The location of the property is quite isolated so being able to surf the net, read emails etc is important. 5. Provide a welcome basket with basics, water, tea, bread and eggs. The West hills mall is 30 mins from the property but with the bad road it is not convenient to nip across after arrival. If these things are addressed it would make this property Sheer Paradise. The location is really good, the staff are great just need the above listed and it'll be my number one holiday choice.
Goodness..I hope we can get the house back to sheer paradise and a number one holiday choice. I can only apologies to Julia for our shortcomings. I am assured by the my business partner Adolf and local staff that the issues have been dealt with. There was a group of friends from my church in London that used the house over Easter who had a fantastic time and assured me over some of the issues raised. No sign of any more stray mice (as that is what was caught by Ayi's trap) and there is now a kitten that is growing fast and appears sufficient to deter an other mice taking up residence. There was always a television available on request: there still is. There is mobile internet connection permanently on site. The basket of of basics amenities should have been there. There is a problem with mains electricity and water in Ghana generally at present. We have replaced the faulty generator with a new one and now have excess fuel stored and we tanker in water and hope to have a bore hole dug shortly.

Communication for our booking was very smooth. The local manager offered all services such as airport pick-up, cooking and shopping tasks. This was so helpful for those who just want to relax after the hustle and bustle of the city. The property from the most past was as advertised. The house is unique, beautiful and in a private compound with direct access to the beach. Our family enjoyed the sand and surf spending hours on the beach. The guard and cook were very helpful helping us to shop, arrange taxis, etc. With a little tweaking on power and water supply issues, Iroko Village earns high praise.

Wow! This place and my weekend spent here was amazing! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anybody. It was quite easy to find just along from one of the most popular beaches of Ghana. You wouldn’t know it was one of the best beaches though because our quiet and relaxing spot was far from a tourist crowded beach. As we arrived it was easy to spot the only large wooden house and we were greeted with friendly smiles and the waft of incense around the rooms. Adolf and Chris settled us in happily and even showed us to the local supermarket to stock up on things for BBQ’s. We were then left in the safe hands of David the security guard who was great at his job and happy to help with anything we needed. All in all I can’t think of a bad word to say and it suited our group of volunteers perfectly. Thank you very much, I hope to return someday!

Nothing can be more delightful then a stay in a home on the beach in Accra, Ghana. This property will amaze you, and it's location is superb. Staying at the Oroko Villa was the perfect ending for a tired mission team that had toured the southern half of Ghana for the previous 11 days. The sound of the waves by day and night supplied the peace needed for fab five and their tired souls. Our hosts showed us the ultimate hospitality ... they were all so flexible with our schedule and special arrangements we made we graciously accepted. There is truly a sense of security here thanks to the 24 hour guard — secure while in the house, on the patio, or on the beach. The meals were made to order. What could be better than fish and lobster caught just that morning for dinner ... a delicious salad and famous Ghanaian rice. Fresh Coconut water is yours just for the asking. The bathrooms and bedrooms all came complete with nets. No need for air conditioning as the ocean breeze are always so cooling. You might want to bring your own oversize beach towel ... and face towel. The bedding was adequate. Water is heated ... just a switch away and may be turned off at night. Wifi is not officially available, though our host allowed us to use his. Thank you for the wonderful time at the Oroko Villa ... I hope to come again. I highly recommend this Ghanaian Beach House.
