Our experience in Ella jungle resort was nice because of the surrounding wish is exceptionnal and very unconventionnal. But we were very disappointed about the standing of the hotel wish is more like a camping than a good standard hotel. Part of the surrounding images, the pictures didn't not reflect what is the hostel in real. Only one manager (very nice and helpfull person by the way) speaking english and able to help you if he is not away at the moment , nobody in uniform, many of the details were broken or looks very very old. The tables were dirty and the breakfast very bad and not included) There were kind of garbages under our private house and close to our bathroom (bathroom is outside of the bedroom and you share it with other people). The bed was a normal bed with a cheap mosquito net , no object, lamps or carpet like in the pictures ). The water fall in the picture does not exist for the moment, only a river. It was a way too expensive but i can tell that the place is absolutely incredible and very quiet atmosphere, this should be enough to make you happy as we were. Don't go there to expect a good standard hospitality go there to leave something completely out of what you know in cities : the silence and the deep jungle)
The resort was beautiful - surrounded by nature and the sounds of the jungle. However, we weren't told much about how the place ran which is a shame given that it apparently is a sustainable Eco-resort - and we didn't really experience this either. We also had an issue with our driver's accommodation that although we resolved, was rather unpleasant and took far too long to resolve. We had a wonderful jungle walk and the staff were friendly, but overall my partner and I felt that it lacked soul and that personal touch that we have experienced elsewhere in Sri Lanka.
