The Lewis SuiteHow about breakfast on the porch?

Bushy House is a colonial style cottage nestled in a ravine garden just outside the historic Old Town. The Lewis is one of two generous suites we provide. A full breakfast is delivered to your room or in your screened porch; slow down, and - enjoy.

At Bushy House, we have created a space for you to get away, regroup and slow down. The B&B suites are quiet and tasteful, and include fireplace and seating area, kichenette, and ensuite. Nonsmoking. Wifi is available and TV/DVD/VCR is provided. The Lewis Suite is most suited to double occupancy, with the queen bed in its bedroom. It can, however, accommodate 4 people - generally for a couple with two children, using the double hide-a-bed couch in the Suite's own living room for the extra. Out on your own screened-in porch, you can enjoy the quiet of the forest and the many birds that frequent our area, as you sip one of our local wines or enjoy the delicious breakfast we have prepared.

Your hosts live in the house, and are available for any questions or concerns. Otherwise, access is limited to the designated B&B areas within the house and all the gardens about. The kitchenettes in the suites are suitable for your own cold lunch or snack preparation, but not for cooking. The Lewis Suite shares an entrance with the Merton Suite, but it also has direct access out onto its own screened-in porch, looking out over the ravine garden and forest.

Interaction with the hosts is generally limited to the serving of breakfast, casual exchanges of enquiries, and spontaneity in the gardens. We are a friendly family, but try to give you some privacy as well.

Our B&B is part of the Fresh Start Initiative: dedicated to serving 85% local produce. We are minutes walk from the local Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, and we raise our own chickens. Niagara is rich in orchards and vineyards, with fruit stands in abundance all through the week. There are many wineries throughout the peninsula, ranging from small family enterprises to large established names. Wine tours are a lovely way to spend an afternoon, whether you do it yourself or with the benefit of an informative and fun tour guide company. There are several in the area.

We work to respect your privacy and maintain a relatively quiet family household, and ask you to do the same. Our house is non-smoking, but you can stroll down the park road to enjoy one if you like. We provide you with a key to the rear entrance, which is designated for the B&B suites, so you can come and go as needed.

Jodie was an absolutely wonderful host who really made us feel personally welcomed, with lots of thoughtful touches that made our stay a great experience. The breakfast was excellent, the setting beautiful and serene, and the room comfortable and well kept. I would highly recommend a stay here, and would love to come back sometime. Plus, where else can you indulge in the nostalgia of watching old classic movies on VHS?

We absolutely loved our stay at this B&B. The Lewis Room was spacious and clean. The private screened in porch nestled into a gorgeous garden was the perfect location to enjoy Jodie's amazing breakfast or relax with a book at the end of the day watching the fireflies. Every detail and effort was made to help us enjoy the area and our stay. We look forward to coming back!

We stayed at Bushy House in the Lewis Suite for 2 nights. The property is beautifully maintained and the atmosphere was peaceful and serene. Jodie and David are amazing people who were constantly working yet readily available to stop and chat. Our room was immaculate and comfortable. Jodie's breakfasts were incredible, and the presentation added to the exceptional quality of the food. We highly recommend Bushy House.

We loved the Lewis Suite in the Bushy House. It was beautiful and the perfect place to rest and reconnect. Jodie's breakfasts are amazing! She was so helpful throughout our stay with area recommendations. Thanks for a wonderful week!

The place was really beautiful and Jodie was an amazingly gracious host. The breakfast in the morning alone is worth the stay.

Jodie was very welcoming and made sure to answer all of our questions prior to arrival. She greeted us in person upon our arrival and made sure we were comfortable. We were initially concerned as to the privacy we'd be afforded, being in the basement, but were very happy to find a high level of privacy. The enclosed patio space was a perfect setting to enjoy Jodie's delicious breakfast spreads each morning. Being cyclists, we had no concerns leaving our bikes there. The entire space was very well kept and clean - an enjoyable setting to return to each evening after a lovely day in Niagara-on-the-lake. We highly recommend staying at Bushy House!

We had a wonderful time at Jodie's beautiful B&B! We stayed in the Lewis Suite which was inviting, super clean, comfortable and very nicely decorated. Everything was exactly as described and actually exceeded our expectations! Our favorite part of the Lewis suite was the attached screened in porch where we enjoyed an amazing breakfast including homemade waffles (dairy free for my bf) served with a choice of maple or crab-apple syrup, Niagara fruit salad, and sour cherry and black walnut scones with plum and grape jelly. Jodie's backyard is full of flowers, plants, and trees and we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. Overall, it was a very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Jodie made the whole booking process easy and enjoyable. We couldn't have asked for a better host. She was welcoming, accommodating, and personable. We look forward to staying with Jodie in the future. Great first-time Airbnb experience!

I am an artist who works sculpturally, lives creatively, teaches art at various elementary schools, and runs a successful B&B. Our family are all committed Christians, and we strive to live that out relationally and with integrity. And thankfulness.
I enjoy my book group, gardening, and our chickens. Our town is small and quaint; we have some good friendships here. Life expands even more as we have come to form friendships with some of the Jamaican seasonal workers who labour in the orchards and vineyards around us. Currently, I sit on the National Board of Young Life, and it is a privelege to work in this way with a wonderful organization. I count Young Life people among my most cherished life-long friendships. That responsibility heads me out to Western Canada a couple of times a year, where I can also take time to connect with family. My sister is a painter, and we love to get in the studio together (and watch a few movies in the evenings).
I do love film, and when I am feeling particularly in need of comfort I'll plug in a Jane Austen or Elizabeth Gaskell. Food is a good thing, and we have our share of local seasonal yummies around us. And don't get me started on music: Mozart to Bill Munroe to Van Morrison to Talking Heads - and a lot of in between.
