The Garden Room is spacious, with a comfortable queen size bed, cotton sheets, a couch, persian rug and an ensuite. Our guests always say they love the decor. The couch is under the window and is a lovely place to relax. Aircon for the summer.
We are in the heart of the Manning Valley on the mid north coast of New South Wales. Its a lovely old house, (once a bank), built around 1910 which has been lovingly transformed to make two rooms for the B and B. Our guests love the decor - some say vintage chic and others say French provincial style. One of our hobbies is to collect and restore furniture..... We discount both rooms if you are staying more than one night. The Garden room is discounted to $175.00 per night from $195.00 and the Bank reduces from $220.00 to $195.00.
We live at the back of the house and the guests use the three rooms in the front. Our guests have access to a dining room with tea making facilities, a fridge and microwave and use of the front verandah. We have a parking area for guests at the front of the house (uncovered), and keys for each room so that guests can come and go as they please.
We love interacting with our guests however we do respect their boundaries. Some like lots of space and others like a good chat!
We are 50klms from Port Macquarie and 20klms from Taree. There are several vineyards definitely worth a visit, especially Bago who have a wonderful Maze to walk before you tuck into a picnic in their grounds and sip their delicious wine.
For the nature lovers, we are a short distance form Cattai Wetlands, complete with 170 different species of birds including black swans.
We try not to have too many rules although there are two:
1. No smoking.
2. No pets
3. It has not been designed for children, but perfect for a couples retreat
Ken and I enjoy creating spaces that are beautiful, comfortable and as natural as we can make them. Sharing what we have created in this beautiful part of the world is the end result. Its so much fun meeting guests of all ages and backgrounds. Ken would say that he makes the best poached eggs in town and I would say that I make the best flourless orange cake. Our music tastes are eclectic - we belong to an a capella choir which sings anything from gospel to African and Aboriginal songsl. We have a friend who teaches yoga and we enjoy our connection with our yoga family once a week on Mitchell's Island. We both like to cook and enjoy making our guests happy through good food!
