This quiet cabin is surrounded by tall trees and has a seasonal brook running through the front yard area. What makes it so unique is that it FEELS like being way out in the country but it is within easy walking or biking distance from most of the highlights of Buena Vista - from Arkansas River to parks and downtown dining all of which are comfortably close. Yet this is an extremely quiet and secluded area - It's like living in your own private forest in the middle of a small town that grew up around it. If you haven't experienced the unique community that is Buena Vista in the Heart of the Rocky Mountains - you need to go soon. This quaint "one-stop-light" town has deer walking through it constantly. There are several creeks flowing through the town and ponds and lakes nearby. It's become a mecca for River Rafters, Kayakers, Hikers & Bikers and is known for being the "Heart" of Colorado. The trails for mountain biking and hiking along the Arkansas River are wonderful and Kayaking and raft trips are world class. Take a short drive up Cottonwood canyon to the top of the pass for spectacular sunset views or go just 8 miles south SW up Chalk Creek Canyon to scenic Alpine and St. Elmo - Historic old Gold Rush Towns to get a flavor of the real Colorado of yesteryear. Enjoy the Hot Springs at Mt Princeton or Cottonwood - both are located on those most scenic byways and open year round. Be sure to stop by and see our Friends, Owen & Cathy Lentz who own and run "The Book Nook" nearby - they'll usually give you coffee & cookies when they're open & have lots of cool info.
Our cabin has a picnic table out front to enjoy and includes use of a Charcoal BBQ - the Furnishings are Antiques to give you a real feel of being in a 100 Yr old "Modernized" Log Cabin. Beds and Sleeping: One Pine Log Queen size bed
Bathroom: 1 bathroom: shower, sink & toilet
Heat: Gas heat

Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods. Holiday Periods also require larger Deposits. See us for details.
11. SHORT TERM UTILITY USAGE RULES: We have our owners cover “REASONABLE USAGE” of Utilities while guests are staying short term – ( Defined as 1 – 14 nights ).However, if we discover ” UNREASONABLE USAGE” – ( defined as excessive or wasteful activity ) we reserve the right to deduct some portion of your Deposit to cover same. This is NOT a typical practice, so please don’t worry. However we do need to make it explicitly clear that we expect people to turn off lights & be conservative in water use – especially in locations with limited and/or expensive utilities – in drought situations or outside the country where utility costs can be higher, etc. This applies to people who may invite larger groups up for a re-union – unannounced to us – as well. If you have any questions on this please contact us.
12. LONGER TERM UTILITY USAGE RULES: When guests are staying Long Term ( Defined as 15 nights or longer ) we can NOT control the amount of electricity, laundry, water, gas, firewood, etc that they choose to use. Some guests seldom go out or always stay home and use up utilities, while others eat out every night. So you can see that we have to have a policy. And Long Term people have a tendency to stay “home” more often. Certainly all Monthly Rentals ( in the rare times when we do them ) usually do understand the need for separate utility situations. We do NOT ever change the Billing into other Names – but will provide documentation of utilities for reimbursement.
13. RATE CHANGES – Rates subject to change without notice. But once your reservation has been confirmed no change will be made unless perhaps your group changes or a cabin has problems where you might move.
