Dolce Miele is one of the annex of the former gendarmerie of the well known Villa Reale di Marlia, owned and lived in 1800 by Princess Elisa Bonaparte, Napoleon's sister. Dolce Miele is located inside of Royal Park of the Villa in the past, on the hills of Matraia, still now, one of the most visited park in the Lucca area, with a beautiful view of the hills and the plain. The annex it has been restored and renovated with taste and refinement by the current owners who live within walking distance. Inside the park there is the above ground swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests.
From Dolce Miele, are within easy walking distance of the town Marlia 2 km with grocery stores, and shops and supermarkets and tennis, the city of Lucca is only 13 km, known for its tree-lined walls sixteenth. The spa resort of Montecatini Terme (golf club) distance about 28 km, 35 km Pisa with the Leaning Tower of Pisa, 39 km the beaches of Versilia with the well-known Forte dei Marmi (Golf Club), 85 km Florence mother of the Italian Renaissance. Please note: inside the property there is a very polite dog.
Dolce Miele is set on two levels. On the ground floor there is the entrance that allows access to the two double bedrooms both with ensuite bathroom with shower. The two rooms, with large French windows have direct access to the garden. The access to the upper floor, from the interior, is possible thanks to a lift, made safe. The upper floor is characterized by the living area, with the tipycal Lucchesian mandolate that at sunset, color the house of a golden yellow, which makes Dolce Miele every cozy and warm. On one side there is the kitchen and a large dining table filled with the colorful landscapes. On the other side is instead the living area, consisting of 2 large sofas (one double sofa bed) and a table game for chess. There is also a fireplace. On the same floor is a bathroom with shower.

The property covers an area of about 10 hectares mainly planted with olive trees and acacias. The garden surrounding the property is about 5000 square meters and it is also characterized by a prevailing cultivation of olive groves and trees. In the property, you can find a space used to the production of honey. In fact, walking along the garden is easy to find in the hives because the owners are beekeepers. In the garden you can find a table near the house on which you can enjoy outdoor dining and enjoying the landscape of the plan of the nearby Lucca and Pistoia. On a side of the house, just next to the owner’s house there is the laundry room.
The swimming pool is an above ground pool which measures 8 x 4 mt with a depth of 1.30 mt. It has a staircase that leads the access from and outside the pool. The swimming pool is open from the last Saturday of April to the first Saturday of October.

Clients must arrive between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. and leave before 10 a.m. on the day of departure. If the client is late, advance notice must be given in writing. In case of flight delays or inconvenient while travelling, clients should contact our office or the local housekeeper. Late arrivals are very difficult to be arranged and the housekeepers may reserve the right of asking for an extra fee, between 50euro and 100euro, depending on the single case. In any case it is very hard and not always possible to arrange arrivals after 10 p.m. It is up to the keyholder’s discretion to decide whether or not to allow clients to enter the house at times other than those stated. EDS declines all responsibility in the matter.
SECURITY DEPOSITS A security deposit as stated in the price list is payable upon arrival to the keyholder in cash or as agreed at the booking time confirmation. This is to cover the cost of any damage or breakages during your stay to the property or the contents. This amount, less any applicable claims, will be returned to you on the morning of departure. Failure to pay the deposit can result in the keyholder refusing entrance to the house.
Pets are generally not accepted by house-owners. If you want to bring one with you, please check in advance if this is possible. If accepted, you will be requested for an additional security deposit and/or adequate insurance.
The property will be clean throughout at the beginning of the rental period and must be left by the tenant in good hygienic conditions in all parts and accessories, throughout at the end of the rental period. Linen is normally changed once per week. It is the responsibility of the client to take care of the waste disposal unless otherwise indicated. If the guests do not dispose of waste from the property the owner or his representative may ask for an additional charge for this service. The kitchen must be left clean and tidy. If, for any reason, including time, guests cannot clean the kitchen and the furnishings/fittings before their departure, the owner will be entitled to request an extra charge for it to be cleaned.
The client signing the contract is responsible for the correct and decent behaviour of his party. Should the client and his party behave in a manner that is not acceptable by civilised standards, the keyholder may ask the client and his party to vacate the house.
Many of our properties have an internet connection. From our experience, when a connection is interrupted due to technical reasons beyond our control, it is unfortunately very difficult, despite our efforts, to receive immediate assistance from some of the internet providers operating in Italy. We therefore strongly suggest that those who need to access their emails should bring their own BlackBerry, or a similar portable device. Please note that in any case we cannot accept responsibility for lack of these services.
