Spacious 2 bed hideaway atop a grand home on a tree-lined boulevard in Little Italy/Downtown. Steps from lively College Street or yummy Korea Town and a short walk to UofT, Kensington Market, close to transit. A peaceful retreat close to the action.
Our apartment is in the heart of Little Italy but close to the downtown core. Beautifully-renovated and very private it has two bedrooms and is located on Palmerston Blvd. – one of Toronto’s favourite streets – because of all the trees, the large elegant houses (all uniquely designed) and punctuated with the original iron lampposts giving it great character - and of course it's a favourite because of its location!
We’re located in a very safe neighbourhood and our quiet street is surrounded by restaurants, galleries, museums, cafes, bars and parks. Within walking distance there’s College Street, the lively, colourful Kensington Market, the Ossington strip, Korea Town on Bloor Street, the Annex, Dufferin Grove Park, the elegant eateries on Harbord Street and, of course, the University of Toronto.
Downtown City Hall is about a half-an-hour walk but if you want to get there quicker, we're lucky to be so well-located for transport as well. The subway is a short walk; there is a bus travelling downtown just 6 houses away; then the Bathurst streetcar travelling north and south in two short blocks and the College Street car travelling east/west across the City is one long block away.
Our apartment is very private on the top floor of one of the Edwardian houses on this lovely street accessed by a separate entrance and staircase which winds up to a peaceful refuge.
The apartment inside is spacious - 1200 square feet - with 2 bedrooms: hardwood floors and new broadloom throughout. The open-concept living room/dining room/kitchen has a comfortable sectional sofa, a Denon sound system and high definition TV with digital cable and a personal video recorder (pvr), a dining table and a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, stove, and oven.
It’s also well stocked with supplies - coffee, tea, spices and seasonings, etc. We have just installed a brand new roof deck where you can relax and soak up the spring and summer sun and take in the view towards downtown. There is a second small balcony to view the CN Tower in the background and enjoy a coffee or a sundowner at sunset.
The large master bedroom has a beautiful Palladian window overlooking the leafy street and a new, very comfortable queen-sized bed. The tiled bathroom has a walk-in shower, washer and dryer, and comes fully equipped with soft cotton towels for your use. The second bedroom, with a comfy single bed and desk, has large french doors opening directly out onto the gorgeous deck.
Other features include:
42" flat screen TV
Denon sound system
Fully-equipped kitchen with range of staples, spices, etc.
Free use of in suite washer/dryer, iron and ironing board
User manual for easy use of the apartment features
Tourist information and maps
We look forward to welcoming you on your visit to Toronto!
The large house has 3 living units, each with separate entrances. This apartment is entered by a separate entrance on the north side of the house and is accessed by stairs (third level).
There are two parking spots at the rear of the house. These are shared between guests and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend that you request the parking you need when you book. If you need more, you can obtain a temporary permit from the City of Toronto Parking Authority: City of Toronto, Temporary Parking Permit and follow the instructions) then you can park on the street in front of our house for the time period you have selected. (Not expensive).
We are available to help out with your stay, but may or may not be in Toronto during your stay. All the information about how to contact us is in the booklet provided in the apartment.
Check in time is normally after 3 p.m. but we can sometimes make special arrangements if you are arriving in Toronto earlier. Please let us now what time you anticipate arriving and whether you need directions so that we can assist. Check out time is 11 a.m.
Also, please let us know if you need parking.
Please be respectful of our home and the neighbours. There are downstairs neighbours so please don't create excess noise that might disturb them.
Additional overnight guests who have not been booked or larger parties of visitors are not permitted under any circumstances. Toronto is a great place to party, but please do not bring the partiers back to our home.
Although we do a thorough clean between each stay to ensure the space is beautifully clean for each guest's arrival, please leave the space tidy and dispose of any perishable food items, so that we can keep the costs and time it takes to do the cleaning to a minimum.
Let us know immediately if there are breakages or spills that require professional cleaning (eg on carpet or upholstery). Quick clean-ups can mean the difference between getting out the stain and having to charge for a ruined carpet. We'd much rather you contacted us than left the stain to set in.
This is a non-smoking house. Make sure to leave it smelling fresh and lovely for other people. If you would like to smoke, please do it outside and use ashtrays to dispose of cigarette butts.
We want to keep pests out and prevent stained carpets and bedding, so please do not bring food or drinks into the bedrooms.
To keep the floors squeaky clean and carpets looking soft and lovely, please remove your shoes at the entrance to the house.
What you do in your personal time is entirely up to you, but when staying at our place we have a strict no illegal drug use policy. This is just the law… not so much one of our rules.
We kindly ask that you switch off lights and the A/C when they are not in use or upon leaving the house. Mother nature thanks you too.
Thanks for respecting our home and have a great stay and lots of fun in Toronto!
