A beautiful space with whole-tree mezzanine & moroccan tiled bathroom, just 3 miles from Totnes in lush devon countryside. Less than 10 minute walk from Eden Rise Barns, and Sandwell Manor. Close to beaches and moor. Surrounded by rolling hills.
A converted barn space using roundwood from our local woodland to create a special living room environment / mezzanine bedroom area & loft bedroom with spacious bathroom. (*please check extra notes for sleeping arrangements).
Our home is part of Old Hazard Farm, just 3 miles from the historic town of Totnes and really easy to get to. Surrounded by lovely devon lanes and walking pathways to the local pub in Harberton along the river Harbourne.
And just 25 minutes from the sea with award winning beaches, and the spectacular Dartmoor hills.
Made to have two sleeping rooms, additional guest could sleep on the mattress in the living space.
Fairly easy to get to on public transport from Totnes along Plymouth Road (using the bus service 177 towards Avonwick South - ask to be dropped at the Hazard turning just past Tigley Cross) - or you can cycle. Otherwise it costs £8 in a taxi or you could call us and we might be able to drop you in or out of town.
The house is comfortable with a good sound-system & eclectic record collection.
There are tea and coffee making facilities, silent fridge, toaster, piano, and a small private space in the garden behind.
Parking is available for one car.
Basic cooking available using the electric cooking ring - although this is not a fully equipped kitchen space, we are happy to lend what we can as needed.
Access to lovely countryside walks (3miles to local 13th century Church House Inn at Harbourneford), and not far from here are award winning beaches & the wild spaces of dartmoor - rivers and tors. We can help you find your way around & there are maps you can borrow to help you find the best places.
Doug and Claire are welcoming hosts and want you to have a great visit. We will help you settle in and are happy to give advice on the best places around that you might enjoy. Other than that - you are welcome to a completely private stay. We live most of the year next door in a separate living space, and are happy to be as available as you need us to be. Occasionally we might need to access tools stored in the utility area - but will always check if OK.
Important to note!
Main space has upstairs mezzanine sleeping platform (in photo) with double bed. Accessed by ladder - not suitable as child sleeping space given no protective barrier.
Downstairs in main-space can have an extra futon mattress for sleeping, and has sofa and chaise lounge.
