The top floor of a 19th century renovated building, accessed by an elevator, is the ideal place for couples, families, or friends, who are after a very special and real "home" in Plaka, the historical neighborhood of Athens!
The flat has two A/C bedrooms; one with a king size bed (180X200) and another with two single beds (an extra wide one measuring 110X200 and an ordinary one 90X200). One folding bed, which can fit in bedroom 2, is available for use by extra guests. Additionally, a double sofa bed (120X190) in the living room can accommodate 2 persons raising the total to 7. Finally, a baby's crib can be provided upon request. Bed linen, towels, and toiletries are our responsibility.
The SPECIAL CHARM of the flat is that it is surrounded by two outsdanding verandas! A secluded (30sq.m.) western veranda next to the kitchen/dining room offering a breathtaking Acropolis view and an exceptionally large (60sq.m) eastern veranda next to the living room, which is sunny in the morning and shaded in the afternoon (in the summer a small part of this veranda with separate entrance is separated for occasional use by the owner). These offer our guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy their meals outdoors facing the Acropolis. Both are decorated with many terracotta pots with plants and flowers. In the winter the verandas are ideal for coffee or lunch.
The kitchen/dining room is exceptionally spacious and fully equipped. Appliances include: gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer, kettle, coffee machine, bread toaster, juicer, chopper, etc. We supply the essentials for first morning's breakfast.
In the cosy, wooden ceiling living room there is air conditioning, a TV set, dvd player, and audio system.
The bathroom is simple and convenient. It has a bath tub and wall mounted shower. The flat has autonomous gas central heating and hot water 24/7. It also has A/C in the living room and in both bedrooms. The washing machine is located on the 3rd floor and guests do not have immediate access to it. Therefore, the cleaning lady takes care of the guests' laundry at no extra charge. She then brings it up to our guests for them to hang it. Iron, ironing board and hairdryer are provided. Also, the flat is equipped with speedy wireless internet connection.
This property is perfectly located in the heart of the touristic and shopping area of Athens. Moreover, it is situated next to a pedestrian street (Kidathinaion), which hosts numerous restaurants, tavernas, coffee shops, wine bars, the Museum of Folk Art, the Jewish Museum, and Children's Museum. Syntagma Square, with many banks, the central Post Office, direct metro line and buses to the airport, the port of Piraeus, and the lovely Athenian beaches is only 3 minutes' walk. Within 5-15 minutes you can reach the Acropolis Museum, the entrance to the Parthenon, the Ancient Agora, the Temple of Zeus, and Athens tennis club. A 15-20 minutes' walk through the National Gardens leads you to Kolonaki, the posh area of Athens, where you can visit the Benaki Museum and the Museums of Cycladic and Byzantine Art. Monastiraki and the central food market of Athens with a variety of shops and tavernas are only 15 minutes away. Next to the flat there is a mini market, a nice local bakery, green grocers, fishmonger, butcher, patisserie, ice-cream and smoothie shop, chemists, and one of the best organic food shops in the city. Finally, at 3 minutes’ walk, there is a lovely open air roof-cinema called “Cine-Paris”, where, from May to September, one can enjoy a movie right underneath the Acropolis while eating souvlaki or drinking a cold beer!
We usually welcome our guests in person (unless we are away on business or holiday), and help them make themselves comfortable. If we happen to be busy or away, our associate replaces us. Being engaged in the cultural and intellectual life of Athens ourselves we can give useful advice about life in the city or travelling to the mainland and the islands. Our library is equipped with a variety of books on Greece and a few guides, which guests are invited to use. If parking space is needed there are plenty of paid garages in the area.
Children are welcome to the flat provided they know how to respect it. If required, we can arrange for extra cleaning service. If you need a car to pick you up upon arrival or drop you off upon departure we can also arrange this for you with an extra charge.

Everything except a small part of the eastern veranda with separate entrance which is separated from the rest of the veranda by plants and is occasionally used by the hosts.
Only upon check in. However, if our guests wish to meet us and we happen to be available we can give them any kind of information during their stay.
Please have a copy of your passport ready upon arrival because we need it for security reasons. Or we may ask you to send us your particulars in advance.
Ordinary check in time is between 16:00-21:00. After 21:00 (and until 09:00 next morning) a late night check in charge of 25euros applies because the person who will check you in will have to be paid for extra working hours while needing to take at least one taxi back home. This fee is payable in cash upon arrival.
Please respect our neighbors by keeping quiet particularly in the evening. Help us save energy by turning off the A/C, heating and lights when you go out or leave the flat for good. Take care of our valuable furniture and paintings. Treat all painted surfaces with care and avoid scratching and staining the walls with luggage. Also, please take care of the wooden parquet floor by avoiding to roll luggage on it. Allow us to water the plants on the two verandas particularly in the summer. It only takes 10mins and we have access to them without disturbing you. In one word, please take care of the flat as if it were your own home! Before check out please dispose of your garbage at the dustbins situated at the two ends of our street.
