Stunning eco house, with great sea views.
We are situated at the end of a small track road, on a crossroad of foot paths. We have a number of beaches that can easily be reached on foot. The nearest one is 5/10 minute walk known for its surf onto long golden sands, pebble back sand dunes. The other paths connect to Pembrokeshire Coastal path routes, and being on a peninsular it is easy to walk big circuits of it or use the coastal buses to bring you back virtually to our door.
We have room to share in a modern eco-house that overlooks the headlands and islands west of St Davids. Guests regularly tell us the house has some of the best coastal views in the UK.
This listing and booking is for one light, airy and quiet double room with great sea views; another lovely double room and a smaller single may also be available. The three rooms share two private bathrooms.
A continental breakfast is included, and served in our open plan kitchen, dining and living space with a 10.5m window overlooking the ocean. For active folk, there's ample covered space to store bikes or surfboards, and we have many maps, guidebooks and activity ideas to share. The Puffin Shuttle tourist bus stops at the end of our road, and there are good service buses from Haverfordwest, our nearest train station, to St.Davids.
The house sits in 1.5 hectares of wild gardens and is one field away from Whitesands, an award winning Blue Flag beach that's good for swimming, frisbee, surfing and paddling. We are surrounded by a network of paths that lead north or south on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and inland to St (website hidden) Davids. It is UK's smallest city, and for a community of only 1500 residents, endowed with a wonderful combination of cafes, restaurants, galleries, pubs and shops. People come here to walk, relax, reconnect, play, visit the cathedral and other historic sites; it's a place to savour and then remember for life.
Please note that the booking rate is for one room. If you'd like to book more than one room, please contact me for details and I'll make a special offer via AirBnB.
We've got a large garden with pond overlooking the sea that you're welcome to walk and chill out in, and plenty of outdoor seating too.
We could even set you up with a fire bowl to b-que on or just to sit and while a way your evening watching the flames flickering in the evening light.
We share as much information and conversation with our guests as they want. As locals, we know the best beaches, walks, activities and restaurants to point you to. We live at Llais y Tonnau, and one or other of us will be in or around the house most of the time.
We have a young dog (welsh boarder collie). Her name is Willow, she is very friendly and loves company, and also happy to just sit.
I also keep hens, free range, mostly very quiet and will not disturb your peace, however they have been known to make the usual country side noises! I hasten to add no cockerel!
We welcome travellers and visitors who want to discover or rediscover an incredible area that's been our childhood and lifetime home. We help all our guests make the most of the area, and can help with ideas about what to do, whatever the weather. As hosts, we're sometimes here and sometimes not; if we are at home we sometimes need our own space to stop and breathe, and ask that guests respect this. Most often though, we enjoy sharing stories, ideas and experiences. Please note that the rate quoted is above is per room, for each room.
I have spent much of my life in Pembrokeshire and enjoyed many years playing in and on the coastline, kayaking, coasteering, riding, surfing and walking. My love for the out-doors has shaped a lot of my out look on life and I think I reflect that with the life style that I live. Keeping Willow, a young Welsh Boarder Collie, chickens & a well attended veg garden, perhaps you will be lucky enough to try some of the produce, having fresh eggs and tomatoes for your breakfast while you stay with us.
I have spent years studying and working in the field of personal growth and development; practicing with some of the worlds greatest mind, body soul teachers which is what I hold dear to me today and share this with a passion with those who are open to self realisation.
Being a stay at home Mum to four children (all have flown the nest) has kept me happy for many years. I have welcomed family and friends to stay, had fun & played games, entertaining has been key to my life style and it is in this nature that I will welcome you when you come to stay.
