A 100 years old traditional Japanese house, on the idyllic Ishigaki island, far south of Japan in Okinawa Archipelago, well known for its scenic beaches and world class diving spots. We rent rooms, or the house, and help you to organise your stay.
The room is a twin room (we can put a third futon for an extra guest) with shower and toilet outside the room: there is a separated shower and toilet room, only for you, 3m away for the room itself.
You will sleep in traditional Japanese style: Futons on tatamis.
The room is equipped with air conditionner, a fridge, microwave and toaster so you can have simple meals in the room. There is no kitchen, but we can prepare some meals for you (see details section).
We have 6 rooms for rent, all upstairs, downstairs is the dining room, living room, patio and gardens available for our guests. The whole house is about 500 sq m.
Our basic offer is weekly room rental, because we believe it is the time needed to discover Ishigaki and the surrounding Yaeyama islands, enjoy watersports, relax in our house, and discover the Okinawan way of life.
We try to give a second life to that old traditional Japanese house, by living there, organizing events and welcome guests around our passions: nature, kids, water sports and cooking among others.
A part from the room, the guests can access some common areas in the house (dining room, tatami room, patio, garden). There is no kitchen available (but the room is equipped with a fridge, microwave oven and grill toaster).
We live in another house nextdoor, so we are here when you need information, but we don't interfere. We are always happy to exchange with guests and give tips about our preferred places and activities around the island.
Meals: We can prepare breakfast everyday except Sunday (1000 yen) on request, tell us in advance (at least 24h before)
To rent a car don't forget to bring adequate license (international license or traduction in Japanese of you license depending on your country)
No smoking, but you can smoke outside on the terrasse.
No noise between 22h and 7h (like in all old wood houses, noise insulation is not very good).
No shoes in the house, no walking barefoot outside the house (it is a basic rule in Japan to keep the house clean)
We don't clean the room during your stay, but we provide you cleaning tools (vaccum cleaner,...). You don't need to clean up the room when you leave., we do it.
